Over 3,000 season cards sold

That's good news and still a long way to go before the season starts, so we should see that figure rise. Out of interest, how many did we sell last year?

Not bad.

I see Bradford have sold over 15,000 @ £149 Adult. Impressive.

Makes you wonder if we could get a good take up at that price and whether it would be cost effective?

Personally I think it would be worth a go. Try and shift 8,000+ @ £149 and then make more money on the food/drink side with a full stadium every week. Obviously the club dont think its worth the risk though and neither do other clubs.

Seems to work for Bradford though.

I think Bradford can afford to do it because they have a bigger ground than us. With 15k sold they can still get another 5k plus pay on the day whereas we don't have that luxury. If we sold 8k season cards, with segregation, away fans, there wouldn't be any room for the pay on the day fans.................... However, if we had a new ground :hilarious:

A bird in hand is worth two in the bush!

Better off the ground being guaranteed to be full with cheaper season tickets than hoping another 5k may or may not turn up on the day... imo.

I totally agree but I'm sure there will be people who just can't afford the initial outlay of a season card who will feel they will miss out.... I can see both views to be honest. Either way, if we could reach 5k season cards before the start of the season, that would be a great effort.

No initial outlay. Pay monthly is there for everyone

Another point I forgot to say, every business needs a constant flow of income throughout the year and paying fans on the day provide that.

Doubt we would sell 8000 even at that price.

The other problem is you make it so cheap people don't have to turn up and you end up with an empty seat not generating anything.

At 149 you could easily justify only going to 10 games a season.

Another good point....... The club must have looked into this and for what ever reason, haven't gone down that road.

If you sell it cheap I don't think people would bother turning up as much thus affecting food and drink sales

Assuming the monthly payment season tickets involve a credit check, then it's not there for absolutely everyone. Out of interest, how much are the monthly payments?

Another good point. So many pro's and con's against the idea. Not everyone's credit rating is good, thus would alienate some people.

For anyone interested ,and following a debate on this after the flares, we are not at present selling season tickets for W block. It's BAU 're moving over to w

That would be quite funny getting turned down for a season ticket for a club owned by Ronnie Martini, maybe he could stand as guarantor, oh hang on.........
