A double promotion is a big askWe're actually winning the league next season aren't we.
That is a big factor imo.Would be nice to reward them now along with the others, if possible. Kensdale's renewal is such fantastic news, didn't expect we'd tie him down, especially so soon. They all clearly love the club and playing for Kev
If we can get those two signed also I think we have the makings of a settled squad who could easily be top 3 with a clear run of no embargoesGreat news 2 to go. Taylor and Gus.
That could still happenTrying to be realistic, I was prepared to see Kensdale leave at the end of the season. Great news.
I'm ready for it!That could still happen
Excellent news.
I’m hearing this is the one that was the most “difficult” to sort. Some people said Cards wanted too much money, which was never the case, and don’t get this confused and think Kensdale wanted too much money as he didn’t.
He did have EFL clubs sniffing around, which would obviously give him more money, more security and so forth. However, he wanted to stay here first and foremost but football is a short career.
Glad it’s finally done as he is a key player. Kev loves us to play out from the back, and Kens is a huge part of how we play. He has matured into that central of a three role since the departure of Lopata. I’d like him to be more dominant in both boxes, but hopefully that’ll come.
Also I think location may have helped, Ollie is a local boy born in Colchester, he has only played for Essex based clubs other than a one month loan to Bath City in 2019. Yes being a pro footballer you have to be prepared to move about, but unless there is someone offering much more in terms of money and future prospects than you can I am sure he will be happy to stay. If he moved he may well end up on the bench at a league 1 club for example which is not what he will be wanting at his age.
In my humble opinion the best player at the club.
It’s amazing that we really don’t miss Lopata & Hobson. That’s partly due to Kensdale has stepped up (& Taylor being awesome)Ollie has come on a bundle. Hobson left, as did Lopata and there were plenty of games when he may have been in the shadows. He's now a leader, make no mistake.
You have to be good to lead a back line that pushes up higher than a skyscraper, all that room behind you and your keeper gives you more sweats than a Col U fan in a Fanzone.
Delighted to see your development continue at SUFC Ollie.
