Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation Ollie Kensdale extends contract to Summer 2026

Transfer news
One of my best mate's daughter is going out with another former Col U player who got let go the same time as Ollie. He hates them now and has converted to supporting Southend, Lol. Anyway, he said seven of them got let go, but he said no one could believe they let Ollie go. They all said he was the stand out player and defender. He was the one they all thought would definitely play further up the Leagues, once he had established himself in the first team.

as i posted yesterday another one signed and sealed creating stability in the squad for this season and moving into the summer, pre season and next. Great work by all

Another big one here, him, Miley and Cards are the biggest of the renewals for me. The spine of the team for years to come.

I'd love to know what sort of budget the consortium have set out, it seems we're not looking to splash the cash too much so it's pretty impressive how we've managed to tie down players who could easily go a league or two above.

I would guess that Miley, Cardwell and Kensdale have had significant increase in wages but to replace them like for like would cost even more

In the recent past we haven't looked after our assets and then spent more for less on risky or wrong attitude replacements.

As you say you really can't put price on the spine of a team with good ability but even more important absolutely part of all things good at SUFC.

Yes many supporters were surprised when they released some of those lads, here is a link to the Gazette report from that time. https://www.gazette-news.co.uk/sport/19057084.colchester-united-parted-company-seven-youngsters/

Kensdale is so comfortable in-possession; he’s technically secure, press-resistant, can carry the ball forwards to break the lines, and has a great passing range. He can also pass at different angles to make our build-up less predictable, and can turn quickly, despite his height.

He’s integral to our first-phase of build-up, has been part of one of the division’s strongest defences during his time here, has played a lot of matches for us now, is a strong enough leader to play in the middle of the back three, and always seems to be available!

Kensdale is also yet to turn 24-years-old, so is still nowhere near his full potential. He’s such a huge prospect, and it’s great to have him here for the next couple of seasons, at least!
do you have stats on him being a top class ****house? Paul Clark was raving about his off the ball work recently

Brilliant, just brilliant! We are getting all our big hitters signed up early. We will know exactly who's in for next season before this season ends and can start working on our targets straightaway, so we hit the ground running come the start of 24-25 season.

Fully prepared, trained, fit and raring to go.

I don't think I've ever seen this club so professionally managed!

This one is probably the biggest of the lot for me. I would say of all the players at the club he is the most likely of all to become a regular player in the Football League.

23 years old, calm on the ball, top quality defender. Not many better than him at this level with a much higher ceiling. Must have a lot of admiring eyes looking at him from league 1/2.

Been my player of the year but goes under the radar as not flashy or in your face like some others.
