OD - Match 4

I haven't seen my bowlers taken apart like this for ages, will be a good one to win

Check out these bowling figures (Oconnor and Curle set V.Defensive !)

Singh lali 10-0-93-0
Curle 6-0-51-0
Oconnor 10-0-62-1

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Ashampstead

Ashampstead won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 42: 288-2, runrate=6.86
Prasad 9-0-47-0
East* 84 (80 balls)
Wanless 2 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Wilkes Run Out 138 (FOW: 284/2)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Great performance from Mrs BB's bowlers, will be a very good scalp if she can win this

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 40: 123-10, runrate=3.08
Higgs 9-1-33-1
Todd* 12 (51 balls)

End of Over 43: 141-10, runrate=3.28

My opening bowler comes to the rescue with his second bowl of his second spell

Progressing nicely with wickets being taken at regular intervals

End of Over 43: 148-7, runrate=3.44
Hallett 7-0-28-1
Woodgate* 16 (26 balls)
Muldowney 4 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Newman c. Way b. Hallett 17 (FOW: 144/7)

End of Over 45: 264-10, runrate=5.87
Silva 7-0-27-5
Walmsley* 4 (6 balls)

A defendable score on a green pitch with 2 fast, 1 fast-medium, 1 medium and a spinner, will be interesting to see what my spin rating will be.

Oppo now 8 down, more quality commentary being delivered

44.4 . Hallett to Gallen
If the sweetest sound to a batsman's ears is the melodious middling of a ball, that shot was Celine Dion shrieking whilst hitting a tin dustbin with a lumpy stump.

End of Over 45: 232-2, runrate=5.16
Resha 8-0-41-1
Dobson* 11 (9 balls)
Carlisle 119 (120 balls)
Last Wicket: Robbins c. Thay b. Resha 88 (FOW: 215/2)

Their 2 best batsmen in now. Expect to chase 280.

I'll be happy to get 200.

End of Over 45: 185-9, runrate=4.11
Johnson 8-0-53-2
Booth* 7 (8 balls)
Back 83 (101 balls)

Last Wicket: Edwards b. Johnson 0 (FOW: 174/9)

End of Over 45: 265-10, runrate=5.89
Woodhall 8-0-39-5
Borrell* 58 (56 balls)

So thank god I had my all-rounder Borrell selected otherwise this could have been a bit of a whitewash. Now i guess we can all take a guess at which Over will the opposition reach to beat this target. I am going for 33.

Managed to struggle to a victory in the end. Dissapointed to lose 4 wickets but lessons have been learnt ( dont set the top order to v.attacking! ) and Browne must have take 5 catches/stumpings so a good day all round. Sunday's oppo look like they are in a real battle to so that can only be a good thing!

Kev

This is how you open the bowling,

End of Over 1: 3-2, runrate=3.00, reqrunrate=5.35 (264-10)
Barrowdale 1-0-3-2
Gittens* 1 (1 balls)
Gooding 2 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Lampard c. Barnett b. Barrowdale 0 (FOW: 1/2)

0.6 2 Barrowdale to Gooding
Full and firmly driven, Barrowdale drops to his right and gets his fingertips to it but he can't stop it. He's a big man and it's a long way down.
0.5 . Barrowdale to Gooding
Ooooh, that had Gooding in all sorts of bother, he kicks the ball away from the stumps and tips his helmet to Barrowdale.
0.4 . Barrowdale to Gooding
Beaten! Good length ball on off stump, Gooding is well squared around on the crease, through everything to the keeper, Barrowdale appeals belatedly.
0.3 W Barrowdale to Lampard
Edged and gone. He's walked before the umpire has raised his finger. That was a beauty.
0.2 1 Barrowdale to Gittens
Almost run out! They really shouldn't have run that single.
0.1 W Barrowdale to Christie
Defensive shot by Christie goes terribly wrong. The ball flicks the outside edge and goes through to Barnett for an easy catch.

Disappointing finish.

End of Over 50: 290-4, runrate=5.80
Phillips 10-1-53-2
Pembridge* 62 (40 balls)
Holt 1 (1 balls)

End of Over 50: 266-6, runrate=5.32
Lever 10-0-62-2
Mhabuthangeni* 2 (5 balls)
Dobson 29 (21 balls)
Last Wicket: Manzoor b. Resha 7 (FOW: 258/6)

Not terrible, perhaps a good thing their best player only faced 21 balls! On a hard and fast wicket I have a decent chance. Wanted to win big today though as NRR will be important.

Should be able to knock this off without too much difficulty

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 50: 186-9, runrate=3.72
Way 10-0-44-4
Beaumont* 1 (1 balls)
Woodgate 31 (41 balls)

Last Wicket: Gallen lbw b. Way 18 (FOW: 185/9)

261 all out, that will do. Askew and Richie stayed long enough to allow the middle order to plunder some runs in the last 10. Now to see how my unfit bowlers fare on a Hard + Fast.

It only took Todd about 4 seasons to realise the importance of bowlers ... !!

;)

Indeed, I love them

I not sure what I was worried about

End of Over 5: 12-5, runrate=2.40, reqrunrate=5.62 (264-10)
Barrowdale 3-0-9-4
Philip* 5 (5 balls)
Gittens 2 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Wilkinson c. Savage b. Barrowdale 1 (FOW: 7/5)

Can't remember the last time my bowlers got hammered like this

End of Over 50: 350-2, runrate=7.00
Schoeman 10-0-58-0
East* 117 (104 balls)
Wanless 31 (26 balls)

Last Wicket: Wilkes Run Out 138 (FOW: 284/2)

The one I can't work out is Curle. Green pitch (admittedly Sunny weather) Superb / Remarkable RM, Cautious bowling V. Defensive, Sublime fitness, Superb Bowling Form. bowling against 2 Superbs, 1 Quality and 1 Strong - 10 overs for 81 :shakes head:

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Not going to be easy for Mrs BB

Nineone ACC v DIBS DIPPERS

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 10: 32-2, runrate=3.20, reqrunrate=2.30 (123-10)
Todd 5-0-18-1
Eagles* 1 (3 balls)
Stride 8 (11 balls)

Last Wicket: Potter lbw b. Chapman 19 (FOW: 26/2)

Into the tail, should've TIE'd

End of Over 12: 43-8, runrate=3.58, reqrunrate=5.84 (264-10)
Walmsley 1-0-1-1
East* 1 (3 balls)
Conn 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Silva b. Walmsley 14 (FOW: 42/8)
