Noel Hunt set for medical at Southend United

Will be confirmed today or tomorrow apparently, small final details being tied up.

Am I the only one that's not really excited abut Hunt ? 80 goals over his entire career and 32 yrs old ? Hmm
It's not like he's scored 80 goals in the lower leagues, he's played the majority of his career in the PL/Championship. We'll wait and see if he's a success, but at the moment I'm excited about this.

Hunt has never been a goal scorer....he is a forward with a very good footballing brain, bringing others in very well. I genuinely believe a front two of hunt and mooney would be very good.

Normally I would be saying the same, but in this case he is a quality player that played in higher Leagues. He should get a better goal ratio at this level, and his assists will also be a big plus. Players like him and Wordsworth, will make Southend great to watch this season.

Waking up at The Roslyn Hotel standing on his balcony looking across the Thames this morning will sway him to sign for us .

Ditto,

33 in December, hardly plays and rarely scores,it will end in tears!

You don't go to games so why do you even care... fickle, ill informed and the worst kind of poster who believes OPINION to be fact. Big difference I'm afraid.

Always a risk, but I can see him making a big impact. Same sort of calibre as Dougie Freedman who was awesome when he came, it was injury that set him back.

Hypothetical question.

If Mooney and Hunt are our regular partnership up front and Mooney scores 12-14 goals and Hunt scores around 6-8. Who would have been a success and who would have been a failure, or both a success or both a failure?
