This does feel like the 1st round in Mock The Week ....

50

Is that the % chance that he is absolutley brilliant for around 3 games then finds the charm of the Southend nightclub scene too tempting & starts being a bit cr+p ?

didn't u lot say same about noel hunt last season another signing failure he got the number 50 as most time he be seen on da pitch In the whole season

You don't support Southend and you don't come to watch them so I'll ask you again, why are you getting so het up about Ranger. If he doesn't make the grade then so what? Or are you trolling because you're bored of collecting shirts?

So, Nile Ranger scores again on Saturday against Oldham - another 3 points. And he scored against Wombles, Warsaw and again at Coventry. 12 out of 12.

Before that was the poor game against Bristol Rovers (Ranger on as sub) and the almost as poor game against Port Vale (no Ranger) and of course Gillingham (Ranger on as sub) - I hope that is all correct.

Anyone keeping tab of how many points we have amassed with Ranger in the starting line up compared with points gained when Ranger was not starting?

The Anti-Ranger gang do not want to know.

Nile's discipline and control was very noticeable against Oldham; he got wrestled with, fouled , kicked, had his foot stamped on, took an elbow and just got on with it: no drama.

Edit - I see that AndyH and Rattus N have pre-empted me! My original post below still makes my point though.

Still only one game that we've lost when he's started, and that was v top of the table Sheff U. That was the only game I was disappointed with his contribution too. In mitigation he did have the court date in the coming week so perhaps that impacted on his performance. I also believe that was the weekend that (allegedly) he misbehaved and got the ban.

Since his return to the starting line up Nile's been immense, here's hoping he's fit to play against Bolton.

We have only lost one this season amongst the games Ranger has started - pretty good record!
You could argue that the one game we lost when he started (Sheff U at home) he didn't really 'turn up'. He was dreadful - however the mitigating factor was him being named as being up in court in the news the following day.

If if he was affected by an upcoming court case he surely has a conscience.....something his detractors would doubt

To think also he still isn't 100% yet.

Mods please delete my post above. Not quite sure what happened to the photo quality

Thanks for all that - very good indeed.

Ranger starts = 15 games = 36 points ... or 2.4 points per game

Non Ranger starts = 25 games = 30 points ........ 1.2 points per game

So, when Ranger is playing we (Southend United) double our points gained. Yes double.

2.4 points per game over 46 games = 110.4 points = champions quite easily.

All I can say is "wow" and then "wow" again.

I think Nile has been a quality signing. Stood in the East on Saturday while he collected his sponsors MOM award. The fans at front were egging him to get over and sign shirts but he said... I can't. I will get into trouble. That's not the Ranger we expected. That's a Nile ranger understanding his place in the dressing room.

Do I smell some large Bro-mance going on?

Jokes aside he was rated by Neil Redfern on C5 Goal Rush as "likely the best striker outside of the premiership".
