Having seen you abuse a few opposition players in the past, I have to say you're one of the best at it that this club has. Ashley Bayes doesn't pop round for a chat any more I assume?

Thanks mate,

I think the key to a good bit of personal abuse is to really focus on an obvious personal defect and really go for the jugular.

I think Bayes for example has a massive set of teeth and is very ugly and letting him know for the entire second half of a friendly really made the day special for both me and Ashley.

Dunno why people are placing the onus on Macca to do the ****.
Should be down to the captain to convey the feelings of the fans.

Smash him Bazza.
Why should any player convey the feelings of the fans? they have their job to do on the pitch and we have ours as supporters, i think the best thing that the players can do is outplay him, don't give him a look in, win the game, if all that fails then all the players can muck in and 'have him' LOL. Hey, let's just support our team, not encourage theirs. UTB.

mayybe a song :)??

"oh nicky bai*ey, your just a ginger ***t,
oh nicky bai*ey, we dont want you back,
oh nicky bai*ey, ***k for your dream moooveeeee,

any gooddd:)?
on the blue voice bit an adaption of his old song has been created. I Dont think booing is going to help. I Would Suggest :
  • Whistling
  • Screaming
  • Laughing
  • Coughing
  • Any Amusing Animal Noises
Obviously I Enjoy these childish ideas.!

There is going to be a huge temptation to boo, I'll find it hard to resist I know as he's completely deserving of it for his disgraceful behaviour to the fans and the Club. However, if we're not going to boo then this is a completely brilliant idea - a huge chorus of animal noises whenever he has the ball, maybe accompanying "Nicky Bailey had a farm e-i-e-i-o etc". He wouldn't know what to make of it and we'd have a bit of fun into the bargain :)

Makes me laugh, i hear fans ripping into our own players on the terraces and putting them off their game then read on here (from probably some of the same people) that we shouldn't rip into Bailey in case he might score against us:stunned:

It doesn't go on so much now but in the North Bank days the opposition used to cop it all game long. You could see them not wanting to defend a corner because they had to stand in their box in front of the vocal Southend fans.
Lo behold if they sported a silly tache/beard/perm or rolled their shorts up too high.

I'm sorry but if you think it's not gonna put a player off his game when he's recieving immense stick then most of the time you are wrong. I believe these players get horribly frustrated when they are getting caned by the opposition and it puts them off their game.

As for ex-players...Ricketts getting himself sent off for a starter is just one i can be bothered to think of.

I've got nothing against Bailey, he always gave 100% and was an excellent player for us, probably the best central midfielder we've had during the last 15 years. Even in his final match against Peterborough when it seemed certain he would leave he put in a good performance and was probably our best player. Whatever happened off the pitch around the time he left was conjecture, I'll judge him by his efforts on the pitch which were excellent defensive work, great tackles, winning headers and plenty of goals from midfield (how we could do with goals from midfield at the moment!).

At the end of the day I think all parties benefitted from Nicky Bailey's stay at Southend -Bailey had an excellent year and secured a transfer to a higher division club, Southend had a good season which wouldn't have been possible without Bailey and received a transfer fee for him, Charlton acquired an excellent player who was their player of the year last season.

Unfortunately, Nicky Bailey is so much better than anything we have in midfield that I doubt Macca, or anyone else to that matter, will get close enough to smash him.

Oh yeah, head and shoulders eh? Oh hold on, wasn't it the very L1 Coppinger that waltzed round him in our trouncing at Donny?
Christ on a bike, Bailey ain't that special.

Compared to Macca, who he continually outshown during his time here, he is.

Also, Coppinger wasn't playing in the middle that day.

That's harsh and you know it - they complemented each other very well and both thrived that season as a result.

But, who won every single POTY trophy that season?

Yes Macca did very well during that season, the majority of the team did otherwise we'd never have reached the play-offs, but we always felt that Bailey could play higher. Their where threads talking about him playing Premiership/International Football.

Never has there been anything like that for Macca. I'm a Macca fan, and I can say he was outshown by Bailey, by a distance as well.

Dont boo , Moo! ;) I obviously take 100% of the congratulations for the idea :p

Bailey was by fair the better player than macca... in every way I can think of. And I don't buy this 'bad influence' argument for a second... Macca got headbutted when he gave Bailey a gobful after bailey had rightly had a go at macca for not tracking back and losing his man. I like macca, but constantly his name turns up in the rumours about scraps and tiffs at Roots Hall. Bailey was exceptional for us. It's a shame he left. But I don't begrudge him leaving for what was a step up at the time. I still reckon he'll end up in the prem

So Coppinger didn't cut in, round up our midfielders and give them the slip more than once then?

I don't give a monkeys about comparing him to Macca (personally i'd rather have Macca in my team) but i would like to point out that Bailey is no super duper wonder kid and the management were right to stick him on the transfer list for failing to even negotiate a contract within reason.
Then his retaliation to that is to tell us he doesn't think he should be playing when Charlton come calling?

A boo bailey thread. turns into a macca aint good enough to lace his boots sort of thread. On a public site...under mining a southend player that could read this. SAD
