On the original plan from memory the car park at the back of the stadium was within the site of FF, but looking at the revised drawing it looks like there are 2 additional car parks on the other side of the road running at the back. Does this Land not fall under Sutton Council / Rochford Council and surely needs there appoval which surely will delay things yet again, not like we are used to delay to be honest.

Do you not remember the trek to Rayleigh to get Rochford Councils approval of the 'overspill' car park and training pitches, which is in their teritory? It was a case of 'no chance, we are a rural District Council........etc' until the cheering/booing crowd of SUFC fans that Ron bussed up, swayed some very weak Councillors to change their minds in exchange for 5mins of crowd adulation...........at least I hope that's all they got!

The council page has a "Submit Comments " button near the top - would it be worth fans making comments to hurry this along?

Probably worth every fan, family members and their friends making positive comments on the planning portal if possible. The ypublic consultation period only ever benefits the NIMBYs, because a negative comment with some justification far outweighs a rarely posted supporting comment.

Having said that, at this stage, it is only a scoping opinion. Probably worth it once the updated application is submitted.

Oh good one can leave comments about it!! lets get some honesty from martin, as its clear, this developement only helps him, not southend utd or the fans of the club

Maybe that is because most negative comments have merits and justification, while supporting comments are mostly biased.

Yep. Those were always the likely tenants and this re-submission confirms that...At a guess I would say that Morrisons said they wanted a bit more space and the plans have been amended as such.

To be honest I'm just happy the actual stadium design remains unchanged. For now anyway!...

I do hope you are right but todays Echo states that the plan for the actual stadium has been scaled down, could well be some sloppy reporting by the journo though?

The main reason I stopped looking at the 606 site a couple of years ago was one particular low life called Colu Mike who was an absolute moron and to be fair didnt do Colchester any favours at all, however Colu Mad and colchester and proud always seem to enjoy coming on here and know how to behave. sorry but I for one would not want to see them banned and who could forget Mads efforts keeping us updated on the Wolves game.

Well, looks like the Council are continuing to be supportive.

The requesting for a Screening opinion has been passed and a Scoping opinion has been given to the club.

Meaning basically the Council have given their opinion on what should be included in an ES (Environmental Assessment) in relation to the modified plans.

This should speed things along nicely...

Just those Vic Ave businesses to deal with now.
