Yes i encountered that earlier when i had a brief look.

Having read thru it all, its actually starting to look alarmingly positive! I just fear that RM has done more harm than good in the past 12 months or so, and its going to take a lot longer to get people/fans/the town "back onside!"

i don't think the training academy is going to have a pitch from what I can see of the plans it sits above the planned gym so it won't be high enough inside. I guess it'll be a gym for the academy. I don't think the new look of the retail park look as nice from above, more bulky.

To qualify for Academy status, a football Club now needs to have a full-size indoor training pitch - it is a recent pre-requisite.

It would also be useful, of course, for the first team to train on should we have weather conditions like the current ones. Of course it would get rid of the chance of using an excuse along the lines of, 'we were rubbish because we've been unable to train due to the weather.' :winking:

Just have to teach them to play football on the floor, then.

This isnt a full size pitch . Roots hall pitch is 7700 square meters , the whole indoor facility is less than half this , and I have no idea what shape it is , if the space includes a gym, changing rooms etc etc. But whatever it is is, it wasn't expected so I am still seeing it as a positive

I'm sure that's the reason why things are quiet at the moment. He doesn't want to say something until the momentum is unstoppable. Be still my beating heart!

Dont care what it says all I want to see is the building start which I still have my doubts that it will ever happen.

Please let this be the start of a new dawn. Personally I will believe it once I see it.

Forgive me for being ignorant, but does this mean we have to re-apply for planning permission? How long will this delay the project that is never l;ooking like starting?

I suspect there'll be no delay. It will probably be ok'd or otherwise before the CPO's are dealt with.

Why would Sainsbury's effectively finance a rival?

How are they financing a rival? If they get involved in anything at FF it will be purely the financing of the football stadium, which is what they need to have happen in order to get the Club off of Roots Hall. They have no interest in RonWorld.

The indoor pitches aren't difficult or expensive to construct either... They dont have to be G3 pitches and the Ipswich Town indoor facility is nothing more than Astroturf covered by a thick tent.

Minor thing, but the revised plans have Stanley Bragg Architects stamps. Is this a new name on the scene or have I missed something? They're a Colchester based Architecture firm who, aside from renovating Pier Hill, seem to have a wealth of experience residing over leisure/retail developments.

Roots Hall Ltd are listed as a client.

Many of the guys at Stanley Bragg are big Col U fans, I travelled on their company coach when we played away to Chelsea a few years ago, they are very well thought of in their industry.
