I like that

Me too - it's got a ring to it.

Do you think the fans will have any say in the name at all? I mean, even if it ends up being sponsored, there could still be a vote on whether we use the word 'arena', 'ground', 'stadium' etc.

If our local train operators sponsored it, at least we'd be able to argue that there was only ONE Arena in Essex...

I'd vote for something like the New Kursaal - it'd be a little bit different, that...

If c2c sponsored it we could be overcrowded, and late for fixtures due to the wrong kind of snow on the rails.

I would favour New Roots Hall, or the Stadium.

Would also favour namimng stands after past heroes, so will kick that off with The Billy Best Stand.

Either the stadium or one of the stands should be named after Sid Broomfield

Other suggestions for stands:

Trevor Roberts
Oliver Trigg
Roy Hollis
Alan Moody (the Moody End would be a good place to put all our Discussing fans!)Sandy Anderson

Plus I'd love for there to be an end named the North Bank.

Gotta be called Sidney Broomfield Stadium!! with a statue outside the ground of the great man with his trowel!!!

However, i would consider set of lavatories to be named after the following:
Vic Jobson
Anton Johnson
Steve Wignall
Dick Bate

Good shout James, as Sid Broomfield did so much to get Roots Hall built then I think it would be a great idea to name the stadium after him. Or akin to Wembley Way, Sid Broomfield Way.

I really wouldn't like "New Roots Hall"

I know Millwall hate the name "New Den" because its not new any more.

Its quite clearly Not roots hall is it ? and not even a new Roots hall its a new stadium in its own right.

If its called Fossets Farm then i'm cool with that.

Always makes me laugh its not like Roots hall has a reputation as a fortress or an intimidating place is it... I love the place but.... what is it with people and change...

Saxon Hall -

Saxon, not everyday you find a king on your doorstep

Hall - Extensive Local use - Roots Hall, Earls hall, Edwards Hall etc

Anything but FF. Gives the impression of a bunch of dimwit carrot crunchers.
I like The Shrimpers Arena but suspect it will be a sponsored name as money talks. Shame though.

Nope. I'm afraid that doesn't work for me at all:

1. There's already a Bloomfield Road in England (Blackpool).

2. There is already a New Broomfield in Scotland (Airdrie United).

3. There has already been a Broomfield Park in Scotland (Airdrieonians, as were).

4. There are other grounds in England which sound fairly similar - Brunton Park, Blundell Park, Boothferry Park. "Broomfield Park" would just be another Park beginning with B - not very original, and especially so given the name of Airdrie's ground.

Either:

(a) Get it sponsored - eg the Hi-Tec Stadium; or
(b) Call it what/where it is - one of:

* Fossetts Hall
* Sutton Road (which it is, as a push)

That's what I reckon, at any rate.
