Probably right but I'm basing it on the idea if both players were prepared to come here on what WE would pay them. I don't doubt Bailey would command more of the two but repoertdely Togwell isn't cheap either despite being lower than Bailey's demands.

(a) Bailey will NOT want to come here

and

(b) even if he did he'd probably want around £5k+ p/w.

Therefore all this Bailey talk is about as redundant as it gets.....

A| YES I agree. Only mentioned he'd be the one I'd go for if he were to accept OUR wage. However this is fantasy but just saying.

b|YES i agree.

YES all this Bailey talk isabout as redundant as it gets.

I would add I did NOT bagin this rumour. A certain Writer tweeted it.

If you had read my previous posts I've explained this.

Nothing to do with you.:winking:

Don't doubt that. But in our Club's condition it has to be careful about its wage structure. And once again REPORTEDLY Togwell isn't cheap ?

The trouble is if you get a few players on a decent wedge compared to the rest it creates trouble in the dressing room, perhaps that's Ron's master plan it is not a problem because nobody gets paid anyway:winking:

Its a fact of life . No players are gonna be on the exact wage/salary. there will differing in what they ear. If I was in the hot seat one thing I'd say to the players is NEVER discuss what they earn. Now if you'd kindly shift yourself back to your own forum please pal. Good Lad. Bedtime soon hey?

COL EWE only said that becoz he thinks Togwell would be better of at Col Ewe playing in front of a handful of people .

Lad........................I wish #oldman

Yes, we need a defensive midfielder (for one, when Tam came in last year, it let timlin play with more freedom, and gave us an edge - as short lived as that was), but I don't believe that this deal is going to happen. Based on the "We only broke even because of Wembley" thing last season, I don't see us paying money for ANY transfers this season, which is effectively what would happen if we give up a little money for an extra player coming in.

Ok we receive a transfer fee for Cresswell with Togwell thrown in. if that happens we stilll have to pay Togwell his wages which are reportedly not low. Personally if we were going to pay out another handsome wage I'd have gone For Bailey if we had the choice of him or Togwell available to us through ability alone.

Its all relative though. I doubt Cresswell moved down south because he'd heard great things about Old Leigh. He'll be one of our higher earners I'd suspect.

Just out of interest, why was Wordsworth sold so cheap? 100k? I'd be a bit p****d off with that! :stunned:
thought that was a good deal for col u, 100k, after all he has never been a regular over the last three seasons but always does well when he plays at roots hall:'(

Chris Phillips ‏@CJPhillips1982 1m Phil Brown also insisted he has no interest in signing Sam Togwell. @SUFCRootsHall @Essex_Echo

That is a little to emphatic I think for the story to have legs. Chesterfield haven't got the money to make a straight offer for Cresswell so dont think either stand much chance of happening.

Good that negotiations with Corr & Prosser at at the final stages. Dont think either want to leave soi I expect both to sign on improved (slightly no doubt) terms soon

It was more than 100K but it was not as much as he would have been worth a year or so ago, he was pretty certain to leave for free when his contract expired because he said he wanted to go, but John Ward kept hold of him because of his value to the team. When Joe Dunne took over he identified players who were not suitable to the way he wanted the team to play (There was also a rumour that certain players were disruptive to the dressing room spirit) so Wordsworth was allowed to leave for around £250K and with that money Henderson and Rose were paid off and left the club. Strange situation all round really but the team spirit is much better in every respect now, Joe has really pulled the club together and I think we will have a good season next year if he can sign a few more players he has in his sights.

With any luck your stadium will get hit by a comet
