I think it's very true that our season will depend on who signs and who leaves this week.

We seem to be a bit toothless in that department at the moment.

A couple of decent signings added to the pack and there will be a bit more pride on show around the place. Which will hopefully raise the Roots Hall roar a notch or two.

A PLEA to the mods..........could you PLEASE take off the 'Breaking News' part of this thread. It certainly is no longer breaking news but it does make my heart jump a beat every time I see it, in the belief that it REALLY is a new signing!

I know Crewe are a freak in that perspective, and maybe a little more difficult with us being located quite close to London; one or two pushing through each season as potential first team members wouldn't go a miss though. Crewe arent a freak, they spend an absolute fortune on their academy and have a reputation for developing youth. They however then have to sell players to support it.

We have produced players, some have gone to premiership clubs before making an appearance for us. Others like Ferdinand and Moussa have broken through. Bentley is probably the closest to the team right now.

We've got Bentley and Chambers coming though. Seedy Njie sounds promising and he was involved in the squad for the Peterborough game.
