Breaking News New COSU Member & Investor - Shivaas Gulati

Looks like the Powerbase have issued their unanimous guidance ;-)

What I know and have seen is very good. We have a grown up at the table.

I don’t know Shivaas personally but I do know people who do in the PNW business community and they speak very highly of him. A very shrewd guy who won’t throw money at something just for a whim. Not surprised that this wasn’t a quick courtship

Instead of sneering, why don't you wait and see Tommy. I don't know either because I'm at learning difficulty levels when it comes to tech. The difference is I know someone like Shiv does know what he is doing and so do COSU.

Even if they did explain you would listen anyway. So far you have failed to see the purpose of paying debts, paying tax, paying players, Paying staff on time, improving the training ground, refurbing the D2, refurbing the 1906, getting safety ticket for extra seating in the North West, extra toilets, improving the West stand and allowing fans to use the new NW bar, new scoreboards etc

You have also whinged because COSU haven't spent at Wrexham levels in late August and September after we missing out on all our number 1 targets. In fact you have threaten not to attend if they don't.

If you are going today then why not enjoy the afternoon and realise what we actually do have. Stop wishing we are Wrexham and have some pride in your own city and your own team.
You literally take any post and twist it to suit your narrative at any opportunity.

It was a genuine question about how technology can be used at a national league club beyond the obvious.

As for the renovation and improvement of the stadium. I'm all for it at the right time.

If you have the best looking and prestigious restaurant in town, it's never going to succeed if the food is ****.

We could make roots Hall look stunning and the envy of all and sundry but it becomes irrelevant if the actual football side continually serve up, boring, negative and result less football.

On paper its part of the whole plan isnt it? A revolving door of experienced millionaires imparting their expertise and when they get fed up with it they move and someone else steps in? JR wont be around forever, at some point he will deem it job done and then someone else will step in.

The balance of power and input must be quite interesting with so many different players with different shares, hopefully it will remain amicable.

I have no idea why someone like this guy would want to get involved in southend united, but the fact that our ownership model is not 'all or nothing' makes me feel more comfortable about it.

I think it's as simple as the global reach of English football and especially of Wrexham (I know they're Welsh) as they climb from the National League towards the Premiership. Southend United is an obvious target for an overseas investor, more obvious than Wrexham were in truth.

It does only say draft to be fair, he hopefully got a lawyer to go through and correct the numerous errors the AI will have made afterwards.
As Tom Lawrence is a lawyer and a member of COSU, dont you think they had this covered? We have a professional set up these days. Our tinpot business model is a thing of the past!

We all talk about COSU knowing what they are doing but if we aren't even feeding the opposition after games and offering them a ticket when they request one then we haven't learned even basic lessons since Ron was here (providing the Yeovil managers comments are correct).

There were or very few comps for the FA cup game. Even the players who normally get comps for league games had to buy for family and friends for the cup game. Might explain why the club released tickets n block A a few days before the game as werent taken up by players etc. Also the revenue is shared between us, Charlton and the FA so believe it has to be agreed to freebies are being handed out. if Yeovil wanted a ticket for the game then they could have purchased one. I could be wrong but thats my understanding

We need a guy like this to be involved. No offence to likes of gary lockett or the owner of a taxi company, those guys haven't got the finance to progress Southend united forward.

Really hope he gets some technology into purchasing tickets. Specifically away tickets. I'm getting fed up with having to sign up for another clubs ticket system to purchase an away ticket.

If it's true that he's bought shares off of Justin then it makes no odds on how much GL etc will put in. Justin has just reduced his share of ongoing costs.

Intrigued by the statement that he's made an investment in the club though - implies abit more than purchasing COSU shares off of Justin?

Operational costs have just increased haven’t they? Not sure how many employees the club have in total, but costs will now increase quite significantly.

I wonder how this will affect the budget/spread sheet/sustainability policies moving forward.

The additional costs will have to be found somewhere?!

That's because many of the National League clubs prefer to do their own tickets or in some cases cash on the gate.
I've just been looking at Halifax away and they are very clear that it is cash only on the gate, they don't even seem to sell their own home tickets online so not sure how our ticket office could sell them.

After years of Ratty and his mischief it's hardly surprising that there will be some doubts or uncertainty on here. Not only that, but this is ShrimperZone and cynicism is built into the psyche of a significant minority of Zoners. For what it's worth, I welcome all new contributions to the Consortium with an open mind, especially those with deep pockets and very long arms.

I doubt match day staff earn enough for employer NI payments to be made. Playing and other full time staff will, so some increased costs likely unless we are one of the alleged 50% of businesses that will see no impact.

Will be not only the amount of NI that is increasing but the threashold at which it becomes due is falling to just £5k per year, so a lot of part time people will now have employer NI costs.

In the part of the business i'm involved in at work, we will see our employers NI rise by just over £2.5m per year, this could have a significant affect on football clubs, amongst others.

Having other COSU members to share the pain, should hopefully be a good thing.
