national league

Worst case scenario those can't continue will drop out of playing. The table will be made up of the remaining teams points against with fixtures re-scheduled between them.

And those that don’t continue automatically relegated or table finalised on PPG?

Hmm....
If you're right, that means all results played against the dropouts are expunged.
If it were one or two, perhaps - but half a dozen or more? Unlikely.
On top of which what happens to the dropouts next season? A National League made up of 17 clubs with the other six cast to the wilderness?
Imagine the lawsuits! You kinda think the govt might have to step in and rekindle the grants idea.

PPG after half a season - fewer for some?
That would take a bit of reconciling.

Yeah I agree, that’s why they wouldn’t be able to continue with drop outs. Can’t see it being voided either, as they won’t give up their promotion spots.

The only thing I can see realistically happening is the government giving grants to resolve it. Feel that’s what all this is all about.

I think Res 1 will pass meaning clubs decide the fate of their own leagues in which case it appears the NL will continue with the other leagues Null and Void. Looks like the messy part will be when NL continues and you have clubs like Dover refusing to continue

...as per a post from me earlier.
Wealdstone have voted 'no' as will five or so others.
Which us brings us back to the debate from post #158 onwards.
How do you continue with a 17-team league and what do you with the results/fixtures from those six dropouts?
That's around 180 games played or to be played!

Yes I agree that's where it will get messy but the way I see it... It's a vote the clubs are not committing to whether they are continuing or not, it's just a vote to either end season or not. If they lose the vote the should continue I'm sure if they don't NL will think about booting them out.

Little point in Nat‘l South and North continuing, asides the feeder leagues below were already shelved for this season so there’s no relegation or promotion issues arising. The only clubs likely wanting to finish the South / North seasons are those in the top few places.

The situation in National is a farce, the league hierarchy haven’t the guts to make a decision so just passed the onus onto the clubs. At present 21 of the 23 clubs have played under a half of their 44 game season, Dover (if they continue) have 29 matches left to play!

So they have a choice of continue and go bust or stop, survive and get kicked out of the national leagues?

That's fair and reasonable.

lol.. I don't know what the league will do but there are loans available right they might not want them but they are there to keep clubs afloat..
Thing is with votes and democracy though is you can lose and you don't get it your way. Obviously the bias view from our side is we want it void but I think we are gonna have to accept that the minority voters who want it null and void are gonna have to figure out a way to continue which might just be taking the loans.

What is totally not fair and unreasonable is cancelling the season because 6/24 voted for it.

You have summed it up perfectly, most of the fans of non league clubs think that the National League hierarchy are completely incompetent.

So how are they supposed to repay loans with no income???

whats also not fair is promoting or relegating anyone without all games being played. We fell foul of it last season (although couldn't really complain), but imagine being a Tranmere fan. They could easily have got out of trouble but still had to accept relegation. That, in my eyes, is incredibly unfair. I've always had a random soft spot for Torquay and ordinarily would love to see them get back up, but not at the potential cost to another club who may if the season had been played in full (as in all clubs playing all matches) have caught & overtaken them. Ok you can maybe accept one club not being able to fulfill its fixtures, there are precidents for that, but when it becomes 3, 4, half a dozen, or more, it just becomes a mockery. It's going to be interesting..

I don't know the repayment terms but it would be pretty ridiculous to be asking for repayment when there is no income which is the sole reason the funding is required..

I literally don't know the answers to any of these questions all I'm saying is I think it's very likely the NL result will be to continue the clubs who voted for that not to happen are going to have to find a way around that as I said there are winners and losers in democratic votes. I'm not making a case for the league to continue just saying that is looking the more likely.
