national league

That's a really interesting development, the clubs that self financed through to the end of the season may not be eligible for loans, I wonder how many of them will look to null and void when it becomes clear that they have no chance of being promoted?

To be honest I don't think the chance of promotion comes into it. I think they have every right to be peed that when they needed it they had to source financing themselves and in an attempt to keep themselves going are now penalised.

Enough games have now been played by NL clubs for the league to be ended now and the final league table to be calculated on an average points per game like last season.

Looking ahead to next season a 23 team league would mean a loss of 1 games revenue in a normal season for the NL, so is there a possibility that only 1 team might be relegated from our league?

2 will be relegated.

They're looking at doing a promotion league for 2 to come up from the regionals to fill the vacant spot left by Macclesfield and with Dover's likely relegation.

A lot of chat on Twitter suggesting that there could only be one relegation spot this season.. can’t find anything to confirm this though.

Are you able to provide some links to this on Twitter, just interested to see what people are saying and understand where that has stemmed from.

Yes, I think it is people in denial of what we are facing inventing a fictitious loophole to make themselves feel better.

Rearrange these words:-
Straws clutching at.

Very much so, but I’m sure most clubs with threat of relegation will be playing close attention.

For what it’s worth I’m still very confused how the NL is able to proceed with playing in the current state, several clubs furloughing players, 1 not playing and this could possibly increase to 6-7 teams, with no relegation the integrity of that league is gone and there is likely to be several league challenges from both NLN/S clubs and I suspect which ever clubs finishing 24 and 23 in league 2 so suspect all clubs potentially threatened with relegation will be clutching at straws and this is just one of those.

oh no - I did not realise .. another rubbish non club in the EFL .

Bring back re-election

There are an increasing number of pub teams in the EFL now. The National League table shows Sutton at the top and then five real football clubs immediately beneath them. However whilst the NL has become farcical this season Harrogate, FGR, Fleetwood, Morecambe and others are in the EFL on merit. Stevenage aren't because of what happened to another pub side Macclesfield but that's not going to stop them outplaying us tomorrow.....
