I doubt we are missing out on revenue with the amount it costs to run roots hall on a match day, especially with the flood lights on. That's when we get 7k plus. Let alone a tiny gate for a tinpot competition that is only there to appease the premier league. We would make naff all out of that competition, probably lose money and lose players (we don't have many fit ones) too. Better off out of it.So is this due to our small playing squad? All the gate receipts go to the national league team so missing out on revenue .. 16 teams in our league seem to like the idea …
No Barnet or Eastleigh either who finished in the top 16 last term,
This.I believe we refused to take part. Nobody will watch us play against reserve teams. Games will cost us money to put on. Waste of time, small squad, damage to the pitch etc. Glad we're nowhere near this.

Especially as it was used by the Premier League to buy the support and compliance of the National League Board in the argument around the scrapping of FA Cup replays. So pleased we opted out of this farce of a competition - could well do without it
Oh yes! I remember that now.Especially as it was used by the Premier League to buy the support and compliance of the National League Board in the argument around the scrapping of FA Cup replays.
Alllll just a big power play.
Correct. They're Premier League 2 teams, i.e. all the clubs with Category 1 Academies - including League 1 Reading. They’re not all Premier league teams either e.g. Stoke, Sunderland, West Brom
No, Forest Green are still in it. Naff competition for a naff club with a naff owner.Seems most of the promotion hopefuls have pulled out. Barnet, York, Solihull, Forest Green, Hartlepool, Eastleigh etc
Good point. All clubs with either very strong financial backing - that appears to make gate receipts less important for them - or with relatively large average home attendances who would expect to see a significantly lower attendance for these cup games. No Barnet, Hartlepool, Solihull or Eastleigh either who all finished in the top 16 last term, which I thought was the criteria.
