My new way of thinking - SUFC wise

I am bored of reading the "Are we gonna sign anyone?", "When are we gonna sign someone?" or "Where's the money gone?" threads on here and i've thought about this hard.

I am of the opinion that Uncle Ron has got the best interest of the club at heart in the long term ie: Stadium. I also believe he won't bugger off as soon as it's built. Spending more money than we have is recipe for disaster and therefore must be avoided. The stadium, i reckon needs to be our platform to start building on the pitch. Until then, frugality is wise and if this means we have to take in relegation and give the youths some 1st team experience on the way then so be it! Frustrating this may sound but we have been there before and we always come up smiling! To quote Corporal Jones "Don't Panic".

I must add that although i love watching us play in higher divisions, i'm not adverse to watching us playing in the bottom tier. Watching Southend is the main thing.

I am now gonna hide to prepare for the abuse !

That's been my way of thinking for a number of years.

We've never been the most prolific club in the transfer market and I don't see that changing.

Football transfer gossip on the internet has become a staple of some fans' off season daily dose of football and when there's nothing about SUFC some people see it as a major problem, especially as the weeks trundle (;)) by. Do they really think that RM and T&B are just sitting there waiting for something to happen? These things take time and we've been in the frame with a few players but not got them. Fair enough, we're not going to get every player we go for. I feel there will be arrivals, whether it be permanent or loan, there's a lot of work behind the scenes that people overlook

Who was our best keeper last season, i think Fredric. Best centre Stanback, not many would argue with Dervite. Best left back, no doubt Harding. Best passing mid fielder, again a poll would most prob name Sawer. Best wide player Stanislas, sorry if i have spelt that wrong, but you no who i mean, and finish of Robinson poss our best forward, although if someone said Barnard i would not argue with them. My point is i doubt any of these players will be turning out for Southend this season,so what are we left with, minus our player of the year of course. Well a side that struggled last season, and imo will again this term, unless ST works the oracole in the lone market again, but the clocks ticking.

We are left with a bunch of promising youngsters who are a year older and wiser plus all the players who were previously injured who we needed the loanees for and who are now fit.
