Is Izzy Iriekpen still available? According to his Wikipedia site he is playing for Hamilton Academical. But I can't find any full comfirmation on whether that is true?

He agree to sign for them but then did a runner without telling them he'd changed his mind. He's now on trial at Bristol City.

Can we please not mention everyone that is released by Clubs as potential targets.

So far we have had a player who couldn't get into rock bottom Crewe's side, one who couldn't get into Walsall's side, now two from the division below.

Jay Smith was a decent player about 5 seasons ago.

I appreciate it, but surely we should be setting our sights higher then players that can't get into a League Two side, a side rock bottom of our division, and a side who is 1 point above us.

If they was Arsenal, Chelsea, Ipswich, Norwich etc they would be more realistic.

We could let a few of our own 19 year olds like Ademeno & Lindie have a crack at the first team. Both are quick & strong, but keep getting farmed out so we can get the likes of Feeney & Milsom in on loan. These players are no better than our two, so why not promote our own talent.

A bloke who gets shown the door at Scunnie, promises to sign for Hamilton and then (apparently without the courtesy of telling them) decides against and instead appears at Bristol City on trial? We need him even less than we need Foran, and we need Foran like we need a Foreclosure Notice on Roots Hall!

There are a lot of clubs that have bought players that would fit in with our club and help our club lift themselves out of this predicament but the fact of the matter is, everyone else in the league has more money and ambition than us. Ron Martin isn't going to give Tilson all of out gate recipets as this are troubled but i'm sure that there are players that could come on a free or loan. But the fact of the matter, we've just got to like it and lump it that we're not an as attractive side as we used to be.

Its called me in desperate need for us to sign players. We have a patheticly sized squad with massive amounts of injuries and we need people fast.

Trust me, the money is being made avaliable for Tilly but we aren't going to pay over the odds for players, plus some players don't want to play for Southend United.

On the Iriepken story, he refused the contract at Scunny because he wanted to play at a higher level, virtually signed for Hamilton but Bristol City showed an interest late doors so he went there. Can't see him turning up at Southend unfortunately.

shame would have been a great signing,lots of names being branded about,but we need some experiance.
