More missed transfers!!!! AAAAARGH!!!

In defence of what pboreham said it does seem very strange that Tilson and Ron didnt try and make HRK a certain loanee signing, would have given us some good options had we signed him.

Indeed so, but the point is we don't know that they didn't.

Who knows what's going on there. For one thing, Swindon is just over 40 miles from Reading while Southend is just over 100. Not that I know where HRK lives but it might have been the difference, we don't know.

Point is, we don't have all the facts so the general mud-slinging is just pointless, especially if what Bishmania says is true where it's not just pointless, it's actually stupid.

HRK could not have signed because we've already had him for three months - the most you can sign someone on a short term deal.

We would only have got him on a long term deal and based on the fact he's joined Swindon for a month, a short deal is all reading want to let him out for, in case they need him, which ruled us out by league rules.

Isnt that in 1 deal though - i.e. this would have been a new 3 month loan?

Be interested to see if that actually is a rule as it would give a possible explanation...

Dont be silly - not like who I posted was unrealistic in us signing was it.

Sorry, forgot Tilly could do no wrong!

But it's getting to a point now that, whenever another club makes a signing, people on here are lambasting Tilson for not making that exact signing, which is stupid beyond belief.

Have you ever stopped to wonder that perhaps HRK didn't want to come here? He's an out and out striker, he said so himself and it's clear to all and sundry it's where he prefers to play, yet we've got enough forwards so HRK will undoubtedly be pushed onto the wing like he has done previously with us.

He's also gone to Swindon, who have a good link with Reading regarding loanee's who signed Simon Cox, who could be a close friend of HRK's.

Perhaps all will be revealed in Ron's blog?!

I would have thought if we did try to sign him, it would be in the Echo or on the official site somewhere?

Anyway, we haven't and obviously I'm ****ing people off anyway, so I'll leave it at that.

Definitely three months within a season,

This is because there is a max number of loan signings you can have in a season and is a rule to stop clubs abusing it,

If it was 3 months at one time clubs could get round the max no of long term loan signings by getting rid of the player for a day and then resigning him for another three months, rendering the rule utterly pointless.

TnB definitely did NOT drop the ball on HRK.

Fair enough, so we couldn't have got him if we wanted.

Happy to admit I was wrong to say he was 'missed' then - fair do's :)

I used to enjoy my lunchtime foray on to SZ. Now I'm hooked on a site for depression and am having instensive 8 hour phone calls with the Samaritans.

It's nice to see someone who will reel back from an opinion after more facts have been presented. (re: HRK)

On paper rehman might have been a good signing but he's gone to bradford so that's us and 23 other league one clubs so there may be more than meets the eye.

Doesnt really count - he has 'previous' with us. We know what he brings, we know he can play in our systems and he knows the club.

Should have been a no brainer.

... oh, and he's 19 (20 in May), so :-P

and Swindon is 5 minutes up the road from Reading, easier to monitor from the Parent clubs pov and less hassle for HRK (ie not living in the Roslyn like last time)

I'm glad somebody else knew this. Its the same reason why we couldn't sign Sawyer on another short term deal if it was avaliable to us.

Doesn't Sawyer and HRK's contracts run out in the summer?

I drive past there every day to go to work and its been done up to a very high standard now, looks quite impressive....although that is coming from a train driver and not a pro footballer lol.

Is Izzy Iriekpen still available? According to his Wikipedia site he is playing for Hamilton Academical. But I can't find any full comfirmation on whether that is true?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Izzy_Iriekpen

If he is still unattached then we should definatly have a look at him. Get him in on trial.
