Sorry Kay, I think he'd be off like a shot. He'd be mad not to. I don't think "principles" come into it, as I said before to Steve Tilson, it's just a job and a he's got the same bills to pay as the rest of us.

Tilson's a Shrimper first and foremost and if there's one thing a Shrimper hates,....it's Col Utd.He'd certainly get a mouthful off me if it ever happened and i saw him round here!

how many players and managers in the past have crossed that dilemma in football? Arsenal/Spurs, Man city/ure, Liverpool/everton...it happens.

even we've had it..Roy Maddonna (sic) of note, as well as the odd player..sorry, I dont think its out of the question. new challenge etc.

If Mo Johnston can play for Celtic and Rangers anything is possible :)

You should probably all know that their new chairman has very strong West Ham connections (it gets worse eh!!), and he does have serious money by all accounts.

I would suggest that it is however also more likely that they would therefore replace Williams with someone like Roeder once he inevitably gets sacked at Naaaaarwich.

Exactly. I seem to remember seeing a video of Tilly singing that on Youtube so he'd not be able to quickly win over their fans.

Whilst MK Shrimper is right that this isn't Roy of the Rovers stuff and that this is a job to Tilly and everyone else involved at the Club the fact is that he is a local guy and I get the impression that he's well aware of the affection that most Southend fans have for him. I'm sure he's ambitious, I'm sure that he's thought about trying to force a move to a Norwich, Leicester or even MK Dons in the past.... but would he want to throw away all the goodwill he's built up over the years for little Colchester United? I seriously doubt it.

Roeder seems to have a habit of having a good start at most clubs, saving them from themselves in the short term. However, the second season always seems to be his undoing...
