perhaps because I dared criticise corr? I am sorry for all of you who hero worship him, but I fear we will not get out of this division (at least upwards) with such a distinct lack of pace up front. And before you say that why should we have a divine right to pacey forwards, may I just mention the THREE SUBSTITUTES that Wycombe brought on last week? Morgan, Kuffour and Cowan-Hall, all of whom were pacier than anything we had. Its too easy to constantly blame the mid-field for not creating chances, but just cast your minds back to last season with Assombalonga and Tomlin who invariably created their OWN chances. We are far too slow and predictable and each week teams are doing a number on us. End of.

Great post. I said the same last week, why are other teams bringing on players, or start with players that run with the ball at our back peddling defenders. They look so dangerous. Whereas ours are slow and static and tap the ball back or sideways.

I agree actually

John Beck style tactics would have beaten that lot today. The pitch was awful and their centre halves didn't like it up them. We were nearly scoring from corners for Chris's sake! We should have packed the penalty area and gone direct.

Didn't Brown get sacked from Preston having gone 12/14 games without a win?

You're right, we DO need pace up top. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind about that. However its not Corr's fault he's not a gazelle, in the role he's asked to play he does a fine job. The fault lies with not bringing in the correct players to suit our needs. Barney is a goalscorer who relies on service, when Hurst is off-form there is none. Again none of the strikers we have are to blame here. We desperately need someone with pace who can create their own opportunities or open up the defence for others. This is Brown's job, he needs to find someone and fast. We are way too reliant on one player (Hurst) every week to get out of this league and his form was never going to last forever.

We also need Prosser back asap, and preferably an experienced head alongside him for the run-in. I highly doubt we'll be able to afford another of those though. Oh for another Kiernan! :'(

No, they had previously gone 13 matches without a win (including two against us), but they had won one and drawn 2 prior to his dismissal.

Close :winking:

6 more games then. Odds on who's next?

How on earth can you keep losing and drawing each game yet still pick the same team every week.am fast losing faith with brown , we have seriously screwed up this season and fail to see why changes arent being made.how must the players not in browns starting line up feel when they see the team sheet going up.

I agree but you don't know how they are all performing in training. Maybe the 11 starting are the ones doing it in training

In training they are up against ...... Oh yes Southend United. They would look good against them

Sturrock was dispensed with for less ! You've had a year Brown and we are no better off.

Unfortunately you can't keep dispensing with managers though, we need stability. Sacking Sturrock was meant to galvanise the players into getting a play-off place, it had the opposite effect. Sturrock was given time, Brown also deserves more time to get it right. It's clear where we need to strengthen, it's down to the management and Uncle Ron to make sure these issues are remedied quickly.

Happily I sold a few things in Toulouse today, which alleviates the pain of the football. Actually, is it really pain any more? Our failures seem to become funnier and more ridiculous with every passing game ........surely that's not right? Our shortcomings are and have been, so bloody obvious for over a month, yet virtually nothing has been done to remedy the situation. We're rather like a super tanker heading for the rocks and the Captain continues to retain blind faith in his navigation equipment. Is it the Captain or the commander who hold responsibility for this on going debacle?........an issue that well no doubt be debated to death in the very near future. At least it doesn't appear as though we are going to have one of those nail-biting ends to the season, a few more games and the play-offs should be done and dusted and put on the shelf for another season. The funny thing is that our play-off place is like a burden that we are desperately trying to get free of.............and yet there doesn't appear to be anyone that wants to relieve us of it! For Christ sake someone, put us out of our misery!!!
