LOL it wasn't as bad as that, just, but it was alot better than the Withdean as the elivated view gave us some depth of perception and at least there was a roof.

RE: The pic of TZ's motley crew in the Liberal club.

I was a bit unsure when the guy with the white stick beckoned us over to invite us all in, but once inside we were made most welcome.
At £7.50 for 3 pints and a coke I wasn't complaining.

One chap in there even recognised Fran from speaking to her in The Last Post when they lost to us at R' Hall.
He said he had told her to visit the club for drinks before kick off."you may well have done" she told him,"but I would have had too many to remember"!
Great day out all round.

A fabulous weekend (stayed with friends in Chesterfield) and got the guided tour of Sheffield and was quite impressed with the Don Valley Stadium - until I got inside! I can image for an athletics meeting it is superb and I can imagine a full house cheering on the runners. As a football stadium it is simply awful, no atmosphere, and from where the away fans were sitting the singing of 'there's no one there, there's no one there' was particularly apt as there really was no one there in three quarters of the stadium!

Obviously disappointed not to see Herd and Paterson start, but Gilbert gave an accomplished performance on his return and I am told Paterson has tonsilitus and therefore Blair starting was a must - pretty unlucky on Pato who has got himself back in the frame with a couple of decent recent performances - think we'll probably see more of him at home games. Got to say that I thought Blair was outstanding in the first half - he ran hard, held the ball up well and had some really good touches and lay offs, and his goal was extremely well taken. Corr was quiet, Hall outstanding and Clohessy simply class!

Morris 7 - kept us in it, with a couple of fine saves. One especially in the second half low to his left was brilliantly stopped.
Clohessy 8 - back to form, an outstanding performance. Up and down the line, and some great crosses into the box.
Barker 7 - Solid as a rock, reads the game so well.
Coghlan 7 - Assured and steady, he really had the Millers front two in his back pocket for most of the game.
Gilbert 7 - Very steady, cleared his lines and put in a couple of crunching tackles.
Soares 5 - Just don't see it, looks to be lacking in confidence and self belief - needs a break maybe?
Easton 7 - Commanding the midfield, next to nothing got past him.
Grant 7 - Getting back to the form that we saw in his first few games - was crunched at least 3 times, but got up and got stuck in.
Hall 8 - MOTM Undoubtedly his finest performance. Was everywhere, gave the Millers defenders a torrid time.
Corr 6 - Quiet, looked a bit sluggish but still won some towering headers and kept the ball well.
Sturrock 8 - Best first half I've seen from him, good goal and some great touches.

Ferdinand 6 - Looks to be a steady player, was the right decision to swap him for Soares.

Sturrock Snr 8 - I will not bite my nose off to spite my face! I might not have taken to the guy, but he got the lads up for it and they looked like a team - got to build on it.

Fans 8 - The only singing came from Southend - indeed I cannot remember a single chant from the Rotherham fans!

Ronnie Moore/Rotherham - 2/10 poor manager, who made a lot of poor comments pre and post match, his £million pound strikeforce was woeful (thankfully) and if a 36 year Irish CB can keep him in his back pocket for 90 minutes then maybe that's why he's still playing for the Millers!!

Loved it! UTBs

ps The pics are brills!

Only just got round to seeing the highlights. Great cross and finish for the first goal, if that was a Xavi cross to Messi we'd be seeing the replay for months. Fantastic header from Blair and a superb turn to set up Soares who should really have buried it.
