Mildenhall causes Wiggy quit shocker!

After watching our new goalkeeper perform tonight i think it is time to resign from the zone. Don't want to get into any slanging matches Flavs/Collis is better than him etc but having watched him in the warm up with Lee Turner for about 40 mins i have got to say he has got the worst handling i have seen for a long time. This includes greats like Capleton,Robinson, Gay, and Cumbersome. Lee was firing in standard shots at him but he was unable to catch anything cleanly. It got embarrising in the end and i don't think Lee knew where to look, in fact you'd have thought that Joyce was the no.1
On to the match and it got no better, three very dodgy spillages, one bottled high ball which led to the goal and plenty of mouth insinuating it was everyone elses fault. Don't condone the Flavs chants but this looks to be another major **** up of Revell proportions. Anyway you have got ya tall keeper just a shame he can't catch and looked dodgy in the air, new he'd been around the lower leagues for a reason but this was ridiculous!

Yes he did spill a few daisy cutters and also was at fault for the goal , no one can argue or deny that , yes Flavs would of got his usual short arrse comments on why he didn't claim the cross , just goes to show no matter how tall you are , at this level every Goalkeeper will have his faults .

My only hope is that he has more pluses than faults which im pretty sure he does have , will be interesting to see who ends up with the No 1 jersey at the end of the season , but competition for places is healthy and let the best man win.

Yep, as you said on the other thread if he's got the tools then he will win them over. However, watching him tonight he most certainly is the worst catcher of a ball i have seen for a long time, spills everything. As with Rev, if the timing aint there then it never will be. Saturday at Thurrock his vocals and build looked promising and it is time to move on from Flavs so was hoping the rest would come tonight. Sadly not and judging by the rest of the team and reports that we are totally skint then it is gonna be a long season, goodnight, Wiggy!

Did you expect anything less mate? Mildenhall is a quality goalkeeper and has been for a number of years now and he'll prove it this season.

Wasn't at the game but I understand he was at fault for the first goal, one mistake and the fans chant for Flavs? Disgusting. It's amazing how quickly people forget that Darryl's major fault cost us a LOT of goals in the last couple of seasons......

Not knocking Flahavan and I wish him well but some people really do need to grow up.

As I see it, no one has told Wiggy to "get out"...

I think most people on here recognise that Wiggy brings an element of much needed balance to this place. Even though she's wrong 98.4% of the time, this place would be a lesser place without her and us rose-tinted, beer bellies would have no-one to rail against!

I'm still awake on just this my last thread so thanks for the glowing reference Hank. No one has told me to get out but i feel passionate about my keepers and my opinion of the latest one is so bad having seen him drop 90% of what was shot at him that rather than **** people off with yet another keeper that aint Flavs is crap post, think it will be better to stay away and just read what my cyber rose tinted buddy's have to say!

A goalkeeper doesn't make a team though , even if Middenhall turns out to be infearer to Flavs , what can we do about about it , we are a Football club , a small one at that and we have and we will always lose our best players to the bigger fish .

Flavs made his choice and who could blame him , give me 1.5 a week more for the same job at a bigger bank the see ya , im offski .

Not worth getting to irrate about these things , as i'm in no doubt that we will lose our best player in Barnard say in 2 years if he carries on banging them in , then we can all ahve a rguement on who we replace him with and how shiit his replacement is .

As i have said, i went there hoping Mildenhall would look a good all rounder. Unfortunately watching him in the warm up he spilt absolutely everything, Joyce was a lot better and he made Collis look like Peter Shilton. Most on here have been calling for a tall keeper which we now have but unless you are Premiership class what you gain in the air you lose on the ground. In this case i'm not sure he is that good at either and time will tell. As Flavs moved on then Collis would have been a reasonable no.1 but as i see it this bloke is so bad that Joyce will get his position sometime during the season.

Wiggy, I dont see how you can judge players aftering see them twice in pre-season. I would have thought you would have learnt after pre-judging a certain ginger haired midfielder who went on to be our POTS. Also, he is right to apportion blame to the defenders for the 1st goal. I mean how much chance have you got as a team when a ball can come 30/35 yards in the air and not one defender attacks it. Alan hansen would be having nightmares!

If a keeper can't catch in a dolly drop warm up then what chance has he got in a game. The first goal you'd have been screaming if Flavs had let that in and Mildenhall is 6ft 4 and got nowhere near it. Anyway keeper aside this team is shaping up to be the worst for years, no Mulgrew as well!
