Message to COSU

Described as ‘long-term’, which I reckon has got to be a minimum of 3 years. Or it could’ve been 2 and a half years taking them up to the end of next season.
It would be odd for a contract to end mid season - so yeah I reckon end of 25/26 or maybe 26/27.

Message to COSU - you’ve backed your management team well in the transfer market, and we have a squad that is better than most, but not all, in this league. Despite that, results are very hit and miss. We struggle against the better sides, but we pick up points against the weaker sides. We’re also capable of a crazy result such as yesterday. Overall, we are cautious in our set up and tactics, always sticking to the game plan, and never throwing men forward to try and get a result, at the risk of conceding another goal.
In the medium term, this isn’t going to be good enough for the fan base. Southend has nearly always been a football league club, and fans expect us to get back there as soon as possible. It’s clear that further change is going to be needed before this happens, so you need to decide whether persevering with the current management team and supporting them with further player signings is likely to deliver this - or whether the fact that they are arguably underachieving with what they have already means it’s the management team that unfortunately needs to change. This is a doubly difficult decision because they have seen us through very difficult times in a superb manner - which means they deserve immense thanks, but may not mean they are the right candidates for the job that needs doing now.
It’s not easy owning a football club, and to be fair this isn’t an easy call. I suspect you’re going to do nothing until the natives get really restless, or until the management team quit themselves, but we shall wait and see.

I hope COSU do what's right and what's needed.
Kev will not be removed in the short term, and progress will be monitored. If things go in the right direction and our current players perform I'm sure he will be here next season.
If things go downhill, and we are struggling to put wins on the board, I think ...unfortunately he needs to be replaced with enough games for the new man to run the rule over the players that are already here.
If KM is replaced at the end of the season that doesn't give the new man time to see what's needed.
That's my two pennies worth anyway.

Kev ain't going nowhere, the club ain't going nowhere, only some players will be blamed and booted. New players will come in and still the club ain't going nowhere because Kev ain't going nowhere.
Surely, if they 'ain't going nowhere' they must be going somewhere.

They won't when the lack of support starts hitting them in the pocket.
Which is bound to happen with falling attendances as this season drags to an end. Do we know exactly how COSU functions? The recent minutes from Shrimpers Trust implies that as custodians they leave it to the CEO to run the club and make the decisions. If that is the case then TL should be acutely aware that the time for action is now

We are still averaging attendances >7,000 and at no point has our season really kicked on. If it hasn't dipped yet, I see no reason why it would now.

We are averaging >1k people through the turnstiles PER GAME more than Oldham & York and nearly double the next best team by that metric in 4th.

As a discliamer: I have no idea how accurate these figures are.

Burying your head in the sand is rarely the best way to run anything.
Over reaction with zero context is far worse. Relax, touch some grass. Literally three points off the play offs and a week for illness struck squad to recover and go again. It was just a little cup thing.
The entertain me cult is so annoying.
Whaaaa whaaaaa whaaaa.
Kev gets judged on pure football outcomes next season.

I don't see that as unusual. Most companies let the CEO get on with the day to day decision making and operations. The owners have their representatives on the board. The board will make strategic decisions and set objectives. I'd imagine the future of the manager would be a board level decision to make.

Apologies that some of us like to watch entertaining football and think it should be feasible to beat a team 3 division below, get a step closer to a great day out at Wembley.

Im not Maher out but you can’t just say to supporters who are paying their hard earned cash to just wait till next season.

Do you honestly think that they have been in control long enough for us to see any significant changes?
Football fans are renowned for their fickleness but god we take the biscuit!
We are less than a year into their reign and they have to recover from the mess the rat left us in, if some no longer want to back them then so be it.
We lost a game of football…. Will lose more games in the future but we are in better hands now and we have to give it time.

Presumably your quite happy paying 20 quid to be bored ****less then?
