Hi lads first of all i would like to offer my condolences for you not reaching the play-off final i just wish it could have been you and carlisle in the final instead of those w***ers Leeds united i'm just praying that they lose it!! Dont be to down you have a quality side and and i very good manager there so i have no doubt you'll go back up next season!!! I'm just on hear to find out if the rumor thats going around down here is true? apparently mark gower is going to sign for us?? i haven't really seen much of him so if it is true,is he a good player?? and whats the rumor up there about it? if any? thanks lads!

We know no more than you, as you say it's a rumour like one of hundreds of other rumours going around the country at the moment.

All we know is that contract talks are in process with him as he would seem to be out of contract this year. He is our last outfield stalwart at the club, playing down the wing and has been a good servant to the club over the number of seasons he's been here, being our most creative player and contributing a number of goals. He probably holds our highest number of assists over the last few seasons. Some guys who would have been good friends of his have been released this year after long periods at the club.

He's an East London guy who's only ever played in these parts, with a young family. Would he want to uproot them and move to Wales? Your guess is as good as ours. All I will say is if it turns out to be true we would miss him considerably, having said that, he went through a very rough patch here last winter and certain sections of the crowd were very vocal in their disapproval. They might be happy to see him go, I, for one most certainly would not.

He may well join you but at 29 I reckon his best years will definately have been at Southend United.

if he does go, then it would be a massive blow for us. a guy who, when is on form, is a great player. he scores goals, he has many assists, and can deliver a decent deal ball at times too.

his only problem is his laziness. at times he will start a game in a promising fashion, and then completely go off the boil.

he does go, i will not be terribly pleased.

Beat me to it, as a like for like replacement for Robinson then maybe. He is purported to be in discussion with the club to extend his contract, so it's wait & see time.

Sorry, but can't agree with that. He is still our key player, has had far more decent games than the boo boys would like us to think, and taking into account the lack of service/support he got at Donnie, I thought he played well.

Sorry, but can't agree with that. He is still our key player, has had far more decent games than the boo boys would like us to think, and taking into account the lack of service/support he got at Donnie, I thought he played well.

Too right, one of our best players over the last few seasons.

Had a dip in form this season yet never hid and always wanted the ball.

He is a confidence player and Id hardly call him lazy either, just more attack minded.

Id be gutted if we lost him.

Thanks lads thats some good feedback you have left there,when a few of you mention lazy on times then that makes me think of robinson!! so i'm glad he's gone now no player is bigger than the team!! good luck next season lads hope you win promotion! maybe i'll be on here again soon if i hear anymore rumors going around or if you hear of any you can catch me on www.scfc.co.uk just mention who you are on there etc my name on there is speedo. cheers lads

Gower is just about the last player in the squad that Tilson would actively look to offload. We play everything through him and have done since Tilly's first day in charge.

Gower is exactly the type of player needed if we adopted Donny's style.

Gower will be staying if he wants to, thats for sure.
