Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation Marcus Dackers signs on loan until end of season

Transfer news
A great signing, and another from the SUEPA stable, he did well for us before and will be especially useful whilst Cards is out.

Marcus is a good lad too and will immediately be a good fit re team spirit. He recently kindly signed a shirt for us to auction for the Walker campaign.
That's really good to hear @Suffolk Shrimper In Dorset.

I've no doubt that the fit to team spirit Is something the 3 Amigos will have considered as a real plus here. Ability has to be the initial factor but the fit here will really help.

No room for slackers
We have Cards, Sandat and now Dackers
Get your hands off our nut crackers
Playing for the badge is what matters.
No more signing old knackers
Now that we have a consortium to back us.

If we spend a few more smackers
We'll be well-stocked for attackers

Hardly an emergency stop gap.

He is on loan until the end of the season and his contract is up.
As I previously said, if we have aspirations of promotion. We have to look at better players than Dackers, he is not the answer to our striker problems beyond the next few weeks.
As a temporary stop gap yes, but we need better quality than Dackers. I know Dackers is here until the end of season and then he will go back to Salford. Who says he will be a regular starter if we sign one or two better strikers?
If the club at the end of season don’t sign better players than Dackers, too me they are showing lack of ambition or money or perhaps both.
I do hope Dackers can do a job for us but for me the jury is out.

That's extremely harsh. He's played 6 games for us and scored 3 goals. At the age of 21 too, he's only going to get better.

Yet he fits exactly the profile the club seeks to sign for the future. Right age, came up through Man City and Brighton academies so top coaching.

Couldn’t disagree more tbh but let’s see how loan goes and judge seems very deluded and blinkered view to me.

If I told you it was pronounced Dakkerse (as in hearse) you’d all be Donald ducked.

Come on, that’s incredibly harsh.

In his spell with us previously, he scored 3 in 6. He won’t repeat that feat throughout the rest of the season, but to me it looks like Dackers needs to home to kick start his career again. He has been farmed out on loans to us, Woking & Altrincham, but all fairly short term loans. Previously, I think, with no inside knowledge on this, that we will look to do a deal permanently in the summer when his deal expires.

I need to dig out my post on him previously to find all the stats, but for a young centre forward, he has a lot of games at this level already across three separate loan spells.

He loved his spell previously. He is still in contact with many still at the Club, and was gutted when we couldn’t extend his spell.

He needs to develop. He isn’t going to be the main goal getter, but he’ll be someone who helps his strike partner massively, and he’ll miss him more than most. Cards has been superb, and his physicality gives us an out ball that we don’t have when Sandat has had to lead the line. Dackers has to work out how to use his size to his advantage more, but he is young. As I mentioned previously, players of his ilk like Barry Corr, Akinfenwa and Jon Parkin (big bad bastards) took time to work out how to use their frames.

We have an exceptional coaching team, and I fail to see how Dackers doesn’t improve during his spell with us.

We’ve gone from having to play Vilhete or Brooklyn up front, to slagging off a genuine centre forward saying we have to do better. Also, I can’t remember who posted it, but saying we are better than the likes of Morais.

We are at the level we are. All our players have faults, Dackers has faults too, but like the others deserves our support.

We can improve on all the players we have, and that’s not knocking them at all, I love this group.

I thought we’d wait until at least 7.7 seconds into his second debut until we slagged him off because he hasn’t scored like Eastwood did.

Although as I see Dackers as an emergency stop gap for now. And much needed, I hope the recruitment team doesn’t give up on a permanent striker like Waldron.
I think if we have aspirations of promotion we need to look beyond Dackers.

My guess is if things go well with this loan then he'll be offered a contract for next season before the end of it. A loan is good for all parties involved and he'll need to perform.

I was disappointed to see Dackers leave last time, as I felt he was just starting to settle into the side and our style of play. Very happy to see him back with us.
