Marcus Dackers Joins On Loan

In a division, where the transfer window doesn’t shut until March, it seems daft to shut a thread about transfer rumours, especially when this won’t be the last signing we make outside of the traditional EFL window.
The transfer thread was closed because it turned into discussions about injuries, tactics and a lot of things that were not transfer rumours. The main bulk of our business is done.

If there are any new rumours then people are free to start new threads, we decided as a team that it was best to close the thread. We are not going to please everyone with our decisions. But we collectively agreed on this approach.

Anyway, welcome Marcus. Look forward to seeing you up close and personal in the South Upper.

This was discussed by the mods, and the reason was given on the thread as it was closed. It’s not difficult to comprehend and the way forward was set out.

so far our coaching team, together with Stan and John Still, have identified players that can meet our needs. We've all seen where we are light up top and I if they feel that this bloke can help us improve our goals for column that will do for me. I also reckon that this could be a rolling month on month loan dependent on results/success/walking wounded fit again. Bring it on.

6'7" striker and we didn't beat the first man with crosses most of the Torquay game. Hardly got the ball off the floor
But to be honest the type of balls you can put in for a 6ft 7 striker will be very different to those that we put in last Saturday. Stick this bloke anywhere near the keeper on corners, and you can hang one up and cause chaos with it.

Anything you can share at this point?

A couple of years ago we thought we didn't need to, now we definitely do. Maybe if we had been a bit more wider thinking a few years ago we wouldn't be here now. We weren't, and here we are.
I'd say a couple of years ago dipping into Salfords youth may have helped us get the goals to stay up

He gets the third in this game (a rebound).

Was involved sporadically in some of their build up play. Chester play some decent stuff.

He is what we need, he seem to move lots and hold the ball up, win ball in the air and lay them off to attacking players, he is what Powell & Mooney need.

Kev, Benno, Currie, Stan, Tom, Still and his array of scouts are watching football matches at all levels every weekend/midweek when games are on.

We are always looking to improve the squad, that never stops. Even though Arnold (for example) was out player of the year last season, if someone better became available we’d look to strengthen.

Lomas, Kensdale & Hobson have looked solid, but as soon as Lopata was available, we brought him in. The same will happen in all positions, budget dependant.

Every team, at every level, is always looked to improve. Man City won the PL last season, and had a bit of a refresh for example. Everyone does it.

Then those posts get deleted/moved to another thread. That would happen if I started talking about cricket in the running thread for example, so I don’t see why it’s any different.

Although the main bulk is done, we are 100% not finished.

Thanks for the feedback @BoyWonder2. As others have already said, we took a collective view on closing the thread and decided it was the right one at this time, and the thread will not be re-opened. Yes, there may well be further business and that can be dealt with on a stand-alone basis.
