Apologies if this has been reported elsewhere on the zone, but for those who were planning to travel to Maidenhead on the Lizzie line, I've just seen this TFL notice:

Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 February

No service between Stratford and Shenfield

Rail replacement buses will run between Stratford and Romford, and between Newbury Park and Shenfield via Chadwell Heath. This is due to Network Rail maintenance works.
Yes noticed this some weeks back. We are going Laindon into Fenchurch st and then onto the Lizzie line from somewhere in London

Am I being dim?
Don’t all rush 🤔🤔🤔🤔
On the ticket stats , I thought that they were in calendar order?
Currently Halifax top of the list, followed by Aldershot, isn’t Rochdale the next visitors to The Hall ?

Clearly a quiet night in my house this evening

Fit to feature - Southend United wing-back Gus Scott-Morriss (Image: Lucy Copsey)

By Chris Phillips. Chief sports reporter.

GUS Scott-Morriss has handed Southend United a huge boost ahead of Saturday's match at Maidenhead United.

Blues' right-wing back appeared to suffer a nasty looking injury in the closing stages of last weekend's FA Trophy defeat to Sittingbourne at Roots Hall.

But Shrimpers boss Kevin Maher expects Scott-Morriss - who has scored 11 goals this season - to be available this weekend.

"He's OK and he's trained," said Maher.

Bidding to bounce back - Southend United boss Kevin Maher (Image: FOCUS IMAGES)

By Chris Phillips. Chief sports reporter.

SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher wants the Shrimpers’ painful FA Trophy exit to fuel his players for the rest of the season.

Blues were beaten 1-0 by Isthmian League South East Division Sittingbourne in last weekend’s’ fifth round tie.

But Maher is keen to see a strong response, starting with tomorrow’s match at Maidenhead United.

“We want to finish the season really strongly and we’ve got to use what happened on Saturday as fuel to fire us for the rest of the season,” said Maher.

“We addressed things on Monday.

“It’s important you put it to bed as quickly as possible and focus on what you’ve got to do going forward.

“You can’t change what’s gone on.

“Despite being bitterly disappointed, you have to move on and focus on the next game which for us is Maidenhead.”

Prior to Saturday’s shock defeat, the Shrimpers had triumphed in five of their previous six games and sit fourth in the National League form guide.

The run of good results has taken them to 11th in the table, three points outside the play-off positions.

And Maher remains determined to close that gap.

“We want to win as many games as we can and get as many points as possible because we’ve got teams we want to chase down, said Maher.

“You can’t be looking at other teams, you’ve got to get yourself right and that’s what we’ve been doing.

“We’re in decent form but we’re not getting carried away with that.”

The Shrimpers were beaten 2-0 by Maidenhead when the two teams met at Roots Hall back in October.

And Maher knows the Magpies will be tough to beat, despite them sitting 22nd in the table.

“We’ve been there enough now to know the difficulties they will cause,” said the Blues head coach.

“Devs’ (Alan Devonshire) sides are always competitive and we saw that when we played them at home earlier on in the season and got beaten.

“Their results at home have been good.

“But we want to put last weekend’s result behind us and the best way to do that is to be positive and go and get a result.”

Pushing for his debut - Southend United new boy Leon Parillon (Image: FOCUS IMAGES)

By Chris Phillips. Chief sports reporter.

SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher is confident new boy Leon Parillon will add something different to the Shrimpers.

Parillon is in line to make his Blues debut at Maidenhead United tomorrow having made the step up from Slough Town.

And Maher is confident the midfielder will soon start to make a big impression.

“Leon is someone we’ve got high hopes for,” said Maher.

“He’s different to what we’ve got in terms of his ball carrying ability.

“He’ll jump up to full-time football but the way he’s trained this week has been very good.

“He couldn’t be involved last weekend because he was cup tied but I’m delighted to have him on board.”

And Maher feels Parillon has settled well into new surroundings.

“He’s part of a squad we’re building to be successful and he will be a big part of that I’m sure,” said the Shrimpers chief.

“You don’t want to put pressure on new signings but he’s integrated well with the players and has trained well.”

Decisions to make - Southend United boss Kevin Maher (Image: Lucy Copsey)

By Chris Phillips. Chief sports reporter.

SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher will be without Collin Andeng Ndi, Cav Miley and Adam Crowther for tomorrow's match at Maidenhead United.

Goalkeeper Andeng Ndi remains sidelined with a hamstring issue while centre-back Crowther is out with a knee injury.

Midfielder Miley is also expected to be miss out but Maher is expecting more news on his ankle injury soon.

"He's seeing someone today and after that we'll have confirmation on how close he is to being back or how much longer he will be out," said Maher.

However, Gus Scott-Morriss is fit to feature despite having to come off against Sittingbourne on Saturday.

Midfielder Noor Husin is available after recovering from illness but Maher remains unsure if Jack Bridge will be well enough to be involved.

"Noor's trained this week which is good," said Maher

"But Bridgey we'll have to watch and see where that goes."

Nick Hayes looks set to start between the sticks after signing from Barnet while midfielder Leon Parillon will be in the squad for the first time.

Parillon was cup-tied for Saturday's FA Trophy tie having played in an earlier round for Slough Town.

Confident - on loan Southend United defender James Golding (Image: Lucy Copsey)

By Chris Phillips. Chief sports reporter.

JAMES Golding knows more than most the challenge Southend United face at Maidenhead United tomorrow.

But the on loan Oxford United defender is backing Blues to bag a morale-boosting victory.

Golding spent time with the Magpies both this season and last.

And he is looking forward to heading back to familiar territory for another important encounter with the Shrimpers.

“It will be nice to go back,” said the defender.

“They’re a strong team with a lot of good players but I back the team we have here to get three points.

“I only have good things to say about the staff and the players at Maidenhead so I’m looking forward to going back.

“But hopefully getting three points will make it even sweeter.”

Blues head to York Road sitting 11th in the National League aiming to bounce back from Saturday’s shock FA Trophy defeat to Sittingbourne.

Golding was an unused substitute for the fifth round tie.is But he is determined to help Kevin Maher’s side get back to winning ways.

“We just want to bounce back now,” said Golding.

“We understand the result on Saturday wasn’t good enough but we don’t want that to affect the rest of the season.

“In the league recently our form has been pretty good and we want that to continue.

“We need to bounce back and I think we’ll get that on Saturday.”

Golding will be looking to play a key part in that happening.

And the 20-year-old is pleased to be staying with the Shrimpers until the end of the season.

“I’m very happy to be here until the end of the season,” said Golding.

“I’ve been enjoying it and all the lads have been great with me so I’m happy to be staying longer.”

Golding has made six appearances for Blues so far and is already relishing playing in front of the club’s supporters.

“The fans have been great,” said Golding.

“Playing in front of them at Roots Hall is probably one of the reasons why I wanted to come here in the first place.

“Just knowing that every week, even on a Tuesday night, there’s going to be 5,000 or 6,000 fans there supporting you is a great feeling to have.

“Southend isn’t a typical National League club either.

“Everyone knows who is around it that we should be a couple of leagues higher.

“It’s a massive club and I enjoy playing in front of the fans.”

But Golding has yet to consider his long-term future.

“My focus is just on every upcoming game,” said the defender.

“I just take it one game at a time and don’t get too caught up in league positions or standings.

“I just focus on doing my job on a Saturday and hopefully getting the three points.”
