Breaking News Maher Charged by FA after red card

Well Kev has stated in the pre-match interview that the club will be appealing. Be very interesting to see the outcome. I guess they'll have to prove it was Bents or Currie that voiced their complaints and all Kev did was raise his arms. If they don't have evidence of that, I can't see a successful appeal.

Well first we can’t see what the 4th official claims merited the red. And video evidence, as we saw with the other red, can be somewhat compelling, as can witness testimony to the alleged incident- particularly when the appeal gets to an independent panel who are less like to worry about keeping up appearances shall we say.

In any event he is right to take this though the process and force a full justification of the decision - else it will just continue with potentially one rule for him and another for everyone else. And if putting hands in the air is now a sending of offence that needs to be made clear and universally enforced.

Has there ever been a successful appeal by anyone against the F.A.?.
