It has been said earlier in this thread that he has written books about his life as a football hooligan, certainly warrants a banning order from football grounds IMO

Just to clear things up, the Tommy Robinson who wrote books about his football hooliganism, has not attended Luton Town games for 25 years; the idiot that used to front the EDL is called Stephen Yaxley-Lennon and he adopted the "Tommy Robinson" name as a pseudonym when he started his vile organisation. It is this low-life that you will be welcoming on Saturday.

Despite his unsavoury political views, he has no real connection to football violence.

I'm clueless on this kind of thing, I appreciate good football and footballers and have no interest in "firms" and hooliganism. Sounds like both are a stain on Luton town.

Sorry Dan, have a mate who is a Luton fan who says and knows otherwise. Tommy Robinson (the real one) now lives abroad, but goes to the occasional game and has been a couple of times this season. Stephen Yaxley Lennon (SYL) is (or at least was) a member of the MIG crew, there are pictures of him in the book 'MIG Crew', published by the original Tommy Robinson in 2007, and SYL was convicted for his part in a fight between Luton and Newport in 2010 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-14278957). Don't think he is involved now because of his regular appearances in the press which have made him too well known, but he does hang around with football hooligans, and was seen with a large gang of them when they went to Portsmouth a month or so ago. In regards to Saturday, I imagine those same people will be around, but my mate says there always seems to be a very heavy police presence when Luton do travel in their thousands, so I imagine it'll be the same again on Saturday and it'll pass without incident

Another Morecambe fan? Welcome.

Tommy robinson has confirmed (via twitter) that he will be attending the game on saturday after a fellow shrimper retweeted it. Im sure the police are well aware of him and is track record. so hopefully no trouble will be caused
Do we know if he was there - I think I may have seen him. I went to pick up my ticket and about 5 past three and there was a guy picking up a Luton ticket at the next window, he glanced over at me. I was rushing round to Shakespeare to get in and then the face registered as being him. At first I thought it odd he was alone and late but then I figured that may be to stay under the radar. He was wearing a green army-esque jacket. If it wasnt him its someone who really looks like him.
