I wonder how much of this is down to the Cresswell situation. Maybe LP (and his agent) are expecting him to feature more prominently given that Cresswell seems to be on his way, and are asking for more on that basis. It is also possible that the initial offer was made by SUFC with the expectation that Cresswell was staying, and they may now have to accept that that may now not be the case, and a revised offer to LP is needed.

However, if that is true, they can't offer LP any more if they don't know what is happening with Cresswell. The quicker that is sorted out the better.

So that means there's three others with contracts being offered to them?

Clohessy, Tomlin & Timlin have all been offered new deals.

Whether they accept them is another matter. Timlin I think wont have a choice, but I expect Clohessy and Tomlin to be off very soon into July, if not sooner.

Appreciate this won't go down well on here but I've heard there is a strong possibility that Clohessy may stay in Essex but the other end of the A12. John White (on loan with you guys a couple of seasons ago at some point I think?) has turned down new contract on reduced terms so we need cover.

Amazing how poorly some people view him, think it has to do with the belief that he "hoofs" at every opportunity and they can't get past that.

I think he's hugely under-rated and will be a big miss if he goes. Solid and stabilising and utterly dependable, if he's not been offered a much improved contract to what he was on, then that's our mistake and our loss should he go.

Certainly agree about the "hoof" ball.Tbf, he's looked a much better player (but still average for L2) whenever I've seen him in central defense rather than at left back.

If this new contract was on the same terms as his old one, I don't blame him.

Was one of our most consistent performers last season, and is very underated by the fans in my opinion.

But Barna, I really don't think he's as guilty of hoofing now, in fact, last time I saw them play together, Phillips hoofed more than Pross!

On Clohessy and Tomlin, wouldn't surprise me in the least if they both end up over the Thames at the place with one of the worst away stands in the whole league.

Prosser's distribution does still leave a lot to be desired.

That said he has improved since he came so wouldnt blame him for wanting improved terms.

Prosser's been our most steadily improved player during the Sturrock era. He deserves a better contract if he's not been offered one. Good character and a strong candidate for captaincy if Cresswell leaves. Would be disappointed if he left, more because of what it shows about our situation than anything else.

Agreed. As with many of our players, he's held to unrealistic standards by some (on here, anyway). He's shown continuous improvement and he wants to play. Why wouldn't he want an improved contract?

I thought John White was a left back?

We could offer him a billion pounds a month, but if he doesn't think he will be getting paid, what is the point

Nope - he's a right footed full back naturally although has been used extensively as cover at left-back by us over the last few years. He's also played at CB a few times too.

In fairness - he'd be a great addition for you lot although have no idea how likely that would be -obviously geography is right, but no idea if he'd be on Brown's radar or not. (as someone that knows him well it'd be odd hoping he does well if he ends up with you but I know he enjoyed his loan spell with you lot previously)

Agreed, I actually want him to stay (as CB not LB) . I think he is far better than a lot of people on here think and he is improving all of the time . It seems to me that people make their minds up on players good and bad and then stick with them views regardless of what the player actually does on the pitch

Prosser is and always has been out and out ******ing useless.
He has improved because he could not get any worse. What ever we paid him was too much.
He can not pass a ball to a team mate.
Can't hold the ball.
Hoofer. good riddance.

Sorry, I know it's all subjective and everything, but I think you're totally wrong!

And we wonder why players get ****ed off and leave our club with idiots like this. He may not be the most gifted but to say he is ****ing useless is ridiculous. i thought he was one of our better players under Brown at the end of the season, especially at wembley.
