Defender Luke Prosser has turned down the offer of a new contract at Blues. However The Club say this isn't dead in the water just yet. A bit concerning for me for if Luke does go, would he be involved regularly with a team elsewhere? Hope this is not down to the you know what reason. Full report on the back page of todays Echo.

Wow....... We cant even keep hold of luke prosser, either his agent is stupid or luke is delusional.

This really sums it up for me. If the likes of Prosser are trying to get away then we really are in the Brian stuff. Desperate times ahead I'm afraid.

Who says he's trying to get away? He rejected a contract, maybe it's because the contract we offered didn't meet his wage demands and he is waiting for a better offer to come back.

Good squad player that every club needs. Good character by all accounts too. Likely that Tomlin and Clohessy will go too and an embargo so brown can't replace. Fantastic.

Despite his great attitude and effort, he wouldn't be a massive loss. He's probably only been here for the past 3 years as he's cheap, so if he wants levelling up we can probably get someone better for the money.

Luke's original deal was on a pittance and, towards the end of last season especially, he displayed signs of becoming far more of an important player for us. If the club haven't upped his deal, then I don't blame Prosser at all. He's entitled to angle for more money if his status is improving.

I wonder if Luke Prosser will be going to Newport County. I understand Justin Edinburgh rates him highly. He had a loan spell at Rushden (I think) when Edinburgh was the manager there a couple of seasons ago.

On the basis that he was our best defender last season (in my opinion), you can't blame him. His performances and consistency deserve more than he is on and he might actually want to get paid.

If these lads still haven't been paid and are being offered contracts, no wonder they're getting laughed at.

Yes, great attitude and effort - well done, Luke.

And I almost agree with the second half of the quote above as well. Shame but there it is.

Exactly. Word was always that he was on a relatively poor contract but now he's a key player in the back four. If that wasn't reflected in the offer then it's no real surprise that he has turned it down.

Amazing how poorly some people view him, think it has to do with the belief that he "hoofs" at every opportunity and they can't get past that.

I think he's hugely under-rated and will be a big miss if he goes. Solid and stabilising and utterly dependable, if he's not been offered a much improved contract to what he was on, then that's our mistake and our loss should he go.
