Low Cost VAR in National League?

It's a no from me.

But could be a comedy aspect where the video is brought down the west stand ladder, popped into a VCR player pitch side and then the ref fast forwards the video reviewing the incident. Even more so if the camera operator hadn't kept up with play

I don't mind VAR.

Imagine the difference in results over the years.

Maradona would have been sent off for his hand of god and England may have won the world Cup.

Absolute 100% no to this.

The officials are crap enough in this league without an even crappier one making decisions on a screen.

Went to Spurs last week. 4 goals, 3 disallowed and two potential penalty checks. 9 VAR stoppages in total, adding to the now multiple substitutions which destroys the flow of the game and fan enjoyment.

Despite how poor the officials are and some crap teams being in the NL, the only decent thing is no VAR. Let's not see our players chasing the ref displaying an imaginary TV screen with their hands. Leave it alone .....

I've always been against VAR, and nothing I've seen since its introduction has changed my mind. It has proved to be everything I said it would.

This cheaper system also has 2 major flaws that full VAR doesn't have. Firstly, there aren't enough cameras and, secondly, it relies on the ref. (who seems to be the only person to see the replay) admitting that (s)he got it wrong.

Hate VAR but do like the idea of when it can be used, bit like Cricket.

If it was like Premier League VAR then it would be a no but I'm happy to trial this version of it.

I personally think VAR is a great idea, however its implementation is terrible. If it operated more like it does in rugby it would be far better.

I would much prefer for the reply on the stadium big screen so the fans, players, managers and the ref see all at the same time, the ref communicates the reason for VAR over the stadium PA why it’s taking place, you watch the incident from each camera available (including ref camera) in real speed, then the ref gets decide one camera angle to watch in half speed to make the decision.

Decision is made from there, which the ref communicates to the stadium. No lines on a screen, no excessive delay of hundreds of camera angles replays, no private screens, and more reasons why.

If it’s not a clear and obvious error that can be seen at this pace it’s not clear and obvious and on the field decision remains.

I couldn’t careless who makes the decisions to go to VAR however it’s it players/manager and they make excessive calls then on field captain or manager gets booked and could leads to a sending off if wrong

My conspiracy theory. It won't belong before adverts are slotted in whilst VAR decisions are being considered and substitutions being made.

No thanks, with the possible exception of goal line technology only. But then how often in a season are there controversies over whether the ball has crossed the goal line? Once or twice maybe. Hardly worth it. Certainly the stupidity of offside decisions in the Premiership based on a toe or finger being ahead of the defender brings the game into disrepute.

VAR has been great for cricket IMO, but that's a very different type of game.

Rugby league/ Union Var has improved the game, but then players have different mentality to footballers
