Loanee Watch 2021-22

Level 6
O’Shane Stewart was on the bench for Welling in the Conference South against Ebbsfleet. Former Blues’ youth Dominic Poleon and trialist keeper Chris Haigh lined up for Ebbsfleet. Ebbsfleet had the better of the first half, edging it 5-0 which led to O’Shane coming on at half-time. Welling had a slightly better second half conceding just one more, although that was aided by some poor Ebbsfleet finishing.

Level 7
In the Isthmian Premier Bishop’s Stortford had Reiss Chandler on the bench against Wingate & Finchley for their 3-1 win.

Level 8
Most eagerly anticipated tie might have been the Isthmian North where Lewis Gard lined up against his older brother (and former SUFC youngster) Freddie as Heybridge Swifts took on Brentwood. Also starting for Tilly’s men was Tommy Davis. It was Freddie who took the honours with a smart finish to give the home side the only goal of the game.

Elsewhere in the division Jon Benton got the nod for Aveley against Felixstowe and Walton. He had a decent first half on home debut notching a Hattrick four. A disappointing second half (delayed by a power cut) when he failed to score and (at the time of writing with 3 minutes of injury time remaining) Aveley only managed one more goal.

In the Southern League 1st division Harlow beat Hertford 4-0 but no line-ups available.

Thanks @Yorkshire Blue - great to keep abreast of what the loanees are up to so thanks for your research.

Fantastic to see Jon Benton smashing them in for Aveley, however I see a few people are saying "get him in the side" so let's temper this with the fact that he's playing 3 leagues below National League at Aveley. He was on loan a level higher at East Thurrock earlier this season so maybe he'll need another loan later at a higher level to see how he performs against better players. Can't do any harm for his confidence though.

O’Shane Stewart was in London Senior Cup action tonight for Welling at Dulwich Hamlet. Welling went 1 up midway through the first half but Dulwich equalised just before the break and scored a further two just after it. Stewart hit the post on 77 minutes.

AVELEY boss Danny Scopes has heaped praise on loan Southend United midfielder Jon Benton after seeing the youngster score four goals in his side's 5-0 win against Felixstowe & Walton.

Such a good technical player, plays behind the front 2 and scores a lot of goals outside the box.
Would easily get straight into our 1st team but for some reason never been given the chance. Would say he’s quite similar to Jack Payne.

It is extremely puzzling why Eren Kinali has not been given a first team opportunity this season. He seems to have all the qualities you need to succeed at this level. Kinali is tenacious, combative, skilful and clearly has an eye for goal.

Level 6
Welling were in FA Trophy action at Hungerford Town. O’Shane Stewart wasn’t involved - I wonder whether we gave permission?

Level 7

Bishop’s Stortford were also in FA Trophy action and none of their loanees featured either.

Eren Kinali joined Southern League Premier Hendon (different region but the same level he was at with Brightlingsea) and as already mentioned got off to a goal scoring debut in a 3-1 win v Walton Casuals.

Level 8

In Southern League South Central Div 1 Harlow lost 2-0 to Dunstable Town. No line-ups available to know whether Anyadike or Shala featured.

Jon Benton continued his goal scoring start for Aveley in their 4-2 win v Witham. Benton has 5 of Aveley’s 9 goals in the two matches he’s played. Aveley sit 3rd. Mark Bentley’s Canvey top the division.

Elsewhere in the division Lewis Gard and Tommy Davis lined up for Tilly’s Heybridge Swift in a 2-1 win at Tilbury. Heybridge have moved out of relegation difficulty into mid table. Tommy Davis is currently third in their man of the match poll on twitter.

Jimmy Wallace and Reiss Chandler have both suffered injuries according to Bishop’s Stortford:

...

Harlow always seem rather secretive about their lineups. Anyone would think they had something to hide.

Eren Kinali scored Hendon’s second in their 3-0 Southern League Premier South clash against the Met Police. Their twitter account describe it as first time and “a leathering angled strike… into the far corner”. His “terrific” cross also set up their third goal.

Two goals in two games for him for Kinali there now.

Wonder if we will try to loan him out at National League South, would be the logical move after playing in the division below for Brightlingsea and Hendon.

Level 6
No O’Shane Stewart for Welling in the starting line-up or bench. Not sure if he’s injured, out of favour or his loan is just up. Suspect the latter as it was only for an initial month. Welling lost 2-0.

Level 7
Eren Kinali played for Hendon against bottom of the table Wimborne and they got off the worst possible start conceding after 2 minutes. Kinali was involved in the move getting them back on level terms around the half hour mark and they pulled away second half to run out 4-1 winners.

Bishop’s Stortford were loanee-less against Carshalton. They drew 1-1

Level 8

In the isthmian North Tommy Davis and Lewis Gard lined up for Heybridge Swifts at bottom of the table Hullbridge and it went according to the table with Tilly’s men racing into a 4-0 lead by half-time. They pulled further away second half to end up 7-1 winners.

Jon Benton played in Aveley’s 2-1 defeat
at Stowmarket, who took the lead against the run of play just before the break. Aveley missed a fair few chances from Benton set pieces and Benton himself hit the crossbar second half before Aveley got themselves back on level terms. Benton went onto hit the crossbar a second time as they pushed for a winner and then the inside of the post which may or may not have crossed the line only for Stowmarket to break down the other end and snatch a win at the death from a corner. Stowmarket are now 3rd, Aveley would have been above them if they’d won.

Harlow were winning 2-0 at ht but as usual no idea of line-ups.
