Let's get off Harry's back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im undecided about MH, mainly because much like everyplayer, he has his positives and his negatives.

For me, he is a forward and not essentially a striker. He is the kind of player that will always make more assists than scoring goals himself. I feel he does hold the ball up well and he does win a fair few headers, especially when he has a defender hanging onto him everytime.

BUT, it's no good if he makes an assist every now and again and very rarely scores. I think that if he could maybe just get a little more confidence then he may well come good and may even start finding the net, it certainly doesn't help when people are constantly taking he p**s out of him as soon as he gets the ball.

Tilly obviously sees something in him and I have every confidence in his managerial ability.

But hey, we all know that were going to be in the championship next year anyway so chin up! Even you MH.

Tilly obviously cares what the fans think. I'm sure he'll be very annoyed at their treatment of his centre-forward, for example. What he means though is that he won't take the supporters wishes into account when he's picking the team and making substitutions. And nor should he.

i get what your saying i but i don't know if you listened to what he said but it came across in a very bad way. and was very nice for many loyal shrimpers to hear especially after a **** poor performance against a terrible rochdale side.

I was at that game and that was one of the worst games i have been to. It is fully understandable when a team pushing for League 1 promotion struggle to beat Rochdale (no offence intended).

I don't think Tilly should have responded the way he did though but you could also say that he is right, it is his job to pick the team and he does that and is so far been successful.

Seriously, how long have you been watching Southend? I refer you to the Alan Little era, the Steve Wignall era, the Alvin Martin era, the Peter Taylor era, the Rob Newman era, the Ronnie Whelan era, the Dick Bate era and many more where such a performance would have been a season highlight.

People have seriously lost where we have come from.

But it's a lovely position to be in isn't it - being able to grumble about that performance instead of be happy with it like in times gone past :D

No, RC doesn't work in the pay roll - but if I went into a supermarket and didn't agree with something they were doing with regards to the product, or the service I was buying, then you're damn skippy I would complain and pass comment on how they were doing there job!

Based on your comment that we are customers, nothing more, nothing less, have you not heard of the expression the customer is always right? :)

In that case i'm right! ;)

How on earth can you say that? If that was the case we'd get in for free!!!!! The club need the money from the turnstiles, along with all their other avenues of income, to stay afloat. Therefore we DO pay their wages.

Along with the gas, electricity, water, etc... :D

In the last published accounts of total income of 3.74M Gate receipts , season Tickets, Club shop and catering accounted for 2.34M (61.5%)
Total outgoings were 3.63M of which wages were 2.53M (69.7%)

This is the very reason why the club meeds to move as they are too reliant on football activities for their income.

However whilst we (as customers) provide the money to allow the salaries to be paid, we do not pay their wages. As with any service , we pay for a product, the product provider pays the wages and operates the company.
This does not give us the right to call an employee of the company a "ginger c**t" every two minutes.
Look at it from your work perspective, if your boss (or even the chairman of your company) called you a **** for making a mistake you would feel it was unfair, if a customer did it , would you accept it because they "pay your wages" ?

He's not my favourite player but he doesn't deserve the stick he gets from the crowd at every home game.

Indeed, when i aired this view on Saturday some old bloke next to me actually offered me out and it resulted in me having to move in the second half as apparently his 'boys' were going to get me after the game.

What cracking blokes. All for sticking up for your own player.

Tools.
ha haaa brilliant were do you sit?

Remember it well and i'm not his dad either.

Thing is, if Harrold wasnt getting the stick, then another player would be. Leon had a dream start with us. If his goals dry up I can imagine the lazy, slow, overweight stick heading his way and whilst there are some grounds to the “I’ve paid to get in so I will shout what I like” theory, it can’t be helpful to the team and surely helping the team is what all supporters should be interested in.

Uncle? Step Father?

I agree completely that as the customers we are not entitled to hurl abuse at the players - bang out of order, as I have said before. Just try doing that in Tesco's and see how quickly the large bloke by the door starts to walk menacingly in your direction!

I do, however, stand by my original remark. Ok, we pay the club so it becomes their money and they can do with it what they want. The figures that you found show that they wouldn't be able to pay the salary without our money coming in to start with. We enable the club to be able to pay their salary, ergo we play their salary.

I repeat, this entitles us to an opinion but to throw abuse at anyone employed by the club.

Btw - expecting abuse for using the word 'ergo' in a post :hilarious:
