Leonard signed a contract and thus far has honoured it. The time, he feels, has come to move on and because a fee is involved it would be a mutually beneficial time for club and player to part. RL has done nothing wrong at all. The club may prefer to keep him, rather than cash in on him, and if they insisted on him seeing out his contract then i have yet to see where RL has said he would down tools. RL has been a good signing. He is a very good footballer and deserves, through his own hard work, the opportunity to play at the highest level he can get.

There has been some real embarrassing posts from so called grown men. Some of you sound like 13 year old girls who have just been dumped.

Still not been a good few days for the zone. From wages to Timlin and the court case we aren't allowed to discuss.

Different views and reactions from people with the same big love of their club, come on Rigs it takes all sorts, and can I just say their is youngsters and women on here as well as grown men just saying chap.:loyalsupporter:

If he doesn't play the next match (and he's still contracted to us then) will you then say he's downing tools? If his non-appearance continues that's the only logical conclusion right?

I wouldn't have anywhere near as much of an issue if he turned out and fulfilled his contract whilst mentioning his desire to leave.

Was it Leonard's decision not to play yesterday? Brown's quotes suggest that it was his decision not to include Leonard due to his head having been turned.

Great so we finally get a Centre Half who can actually get on the end of his long throws and he wants to bugger off...

The only positive of Leonard leaving, along with the money, would be that we don't have to endure his pointless predictable long throws anymore which never create anything.

We are going to need someone to fill in to the void of player who wins cheap free kicks though. What's Anthony Grant up to these days?

Will this save us a bit of money as well ? I thought that , by submitting a written transfer request Ryan has given up on any loyalty bonuses or percentage of transfer fees . Is this correct .

Doesn't a formal transfer request often mean that the player is giving up the right to something like a loyalty bonus that they may have written into their contract? not sure what the case is with Lenny.

If he's offered say £8k per week in a 3 year deal, would he be happy to take £5k to give Sheffield the funds to offer us a million instead? If he wants away that much and for footballing reasons etc?

More gutted than anything never enjoy seeing that a favourite player wants to leave, hardly surprising though. If he as professional as we all believe then he will know there is no way we are not going to accept a less than satisfactory offer for him! He is a class player Sheffield, now cough up!!!

First and foremost we must now look to find a replacement and pretty dam quick .If Lenny wants to go and he has made no bones about that then get shot before he unsettles what he has said is a good group of players . With the money we get Phil brown must be given a large slice of that to buy in if needed .

Let him go! I really dont get whats so good about his game ? How many goals does he score? Not in the top 5 of assists last season either? How many shots does he have that actually hit the target? Never beats the last man and ive seen a goal from the long throw?? We can get a better player but valuation has to be right

It seems obvious that it's only a matter of time before he leaves and the only thing delaying it will be the money now. TBH I think this might end up being better for us than it will be for him, granted he is a decent player at this level but the thing that stands out is his drive, I think a step up to the championship, particularly the top end of the championship which is where sheff utd want to be, will be a step too far for him.

we will get a decent whack for him and invest that into a suitable replacement (or even an improvement). in the short term I'd be tempted to try and get Amos on a season long loan as a start along with whoever else we might have lined up

Only prolonged period without him in the last few years was the last 2/3 months of 2015/16 and we all know what happened then. Will be a massive loss and PB needs to act quickly to sign as close to a replacement as we can get.

Yes - generally it means that the play forgoes any loyalty bonus which is paid over the duration of the contract. Which is why players often try to force moves without going down the route of submitting a transfer request. It's another reason I've no big issue with Leonard doing this.

It's my understanding that the bid from Sheffield United of £500k plus add ons was what Lenny and his agent were told the club would deem acceptable to seal his departure. When Ron Martin turned that down that triggered the transfer request.

£500k plus add ons is a bloody good offer in my opinion!

The club have known for a while that Lenny has wanted out , let's hope this gets wrapped up shortly so Briwn can get the replacement in that he's been keeping tabs on .
Will wish him all the best as his money will strengthen our side with 2 new additions
