Terrier-like, hmmmm....I did notice a couple of Lee's tackles that made me wince and which could easily have earned cards. He still has that tendency to either leave the boot in too long or go in too high and that's a side of him I really don't like. I'm happy that he got so long on the pitch, and hope this is the start of things for him. As long as he shows the right attitude then I'll be behind him.

Hes a ball winner he goes looking for the ball and comes away with in most cases,he has so much to his game a rare talent. Will be snapped up one day 100% sure of that. The thing is his loves it here i no that all he wanted is to be hear, didnt talk to the other clubs intrested in him, he just wanted hear, hes so happy in his self now to.Hes going to be a hero hear i no he will.:footballer:

I hope so, how good Lee Sawyer feel, if he was one of the player who helped Southend Utd bounce back up to League 1 after relegation last year! ..... he just need a run of game to get his fitness up and learn more about the team strength and weakness and I am sure he will be back the player from September to December 2008!

Well didnt i do well getting him back!

Count me in, you could see his quality first time he put the shirt on, and he will only get better. Hope we can hang on to him for a while.

Took me a while to work this out...."mom...?"!!! I think you're getting slightly over the top here, Lee's a long way from being a consistent MOTM and he still appears to be displaying only a glimpse of what we've seen in the past. Yes, there are some lovely runs and some good work but he's giving the ball away far too often and seems afraid to have a pop at goal....only what we've come to expect from recent midfielders I suppose :whistling: Only one player possibly deserving of the statement "MOTM nearly every game" in my opinion, and that's Chris Barker, the guy is immense and without him I think we'd have really struggled badly.

I have been in the Sawyer fan club since his first game. A total talent so delighted to have him in the side. I feel Granty, Kane, Easton and Sawyer all have real quality to offer.

Good performance last night, Lee, but you must work on that left foot. It was like watching a game of Sensible Soccer at times.

When he steams forward, he looks unstoppable, I'm waiting for the first shot he unleashes that breaks the back of the net, and once that happens he will be scoring non stop!

He knows dont worry about that.Mark.
that's good to know. You seem to know him very well Chemico. I'm sure Lee is aware of the parts of the game he needs to improve. Is he completely focused on these areas and what does he think of Sturrock? My feelings are that if any player listens to him they'll improve. Has Lee been given a dossier? :smiles:I know it will be shorter than Scott Spencer's.

RE Lee Sawyer.

Was injured early doors teams done so well cant get a look in at the moment ,17 unbeaton run. Will be back before the end of January when we might lose 2 or 3 players maybe? Dont start slagging him of hes a lovely lad done us proud at our son James Staines memorial football match with the 5 other Southend utd lads who attended to.:footballer:

Your time will come Lee hang in there .

Yeah, I always wanted to see him in action, I hope its can happen tomorrow as we need the attacking sparks through the middle - Sawyer and Grant together Vs Swindon!
