Lee Barnard - Glad we didn't get him!

Mr Gilbo

Manager
So this guy was heavily linked to us over the summer which of course could have been just fan rumour!

But after seeing him today are you glad we didn't get him?! Did he offer anything. Discuss

I for one am glad we didn't get him as I think we have a better players in all of our forwards than him.

I saw and spoke to Clive Allen (reserve team coach of Spurs) before the game, and as they had a free saturday he was here to check out how Barnard was getting on at Crewe.

Allen seemed like a nice guy.

I dont reckon he was that impressed by Barnard.

Complete and utter tosh just as myself and notably a certain Orient fan ;) have been saying he was for some time.

That Byron Moore is tipped to have a big future and he didn't look all that bad though.

Gary Megson was there too today, lets hope he came to watch Eric in action...

Still think Tilly and Brush should go and we're heading for League Two? :D

i thought barnard was ok owing to the fact that he was isolated and had little support. yeah he was lucky to stay on and lost a lot of "battles" with clarke and barrett but he also hit the post when i didn't think he was offside and showed some neat touches

still wouldn't sign him though!

Barnard was garbage today, so glad we didn't sign him like so many people where suggested we did...

I thought he was pants he caused no real threat, he looked quite fast at times but to be honest Hooper looked better than him so quite glad we didn't sign him.

I thought he was their best player, but that isn't saying much really, as Crewe were on a par with Gillingham as one of the worst sides to visit The Hall in quite some time..

at least gillingham tried a bit to go forward... crewe were woeful and even when they had 4 on 3 at one stage still literally tripped over the ball and failed to draw collis into a meaningful save

to be fair imho he was was one of the better players on the pitch, intelligent runs and movement and was unlucky not to score.

Though shame about about the rest of the side

To be fair to the lad, he wasn't that bad, it was just the ineptitude of his team-mates letting him down. Wasn't any better than the strikers we had out there though

Lee was out in Stewarts bar in Billericay on Friday night! loving the preparation, as he is a Billericay boy. I heard he was injured. good lad Lee, should be able to play at this level...

Didn't rate him much, was just surprised Peter Clarke managed to resist the temptation to batter him after Barnard took him out early in the game.

He didn't really need to batter him, as he probably gained enough satisfaction from having him in his pocket all game...
