Laurent and Thierry Henry

good debut no doubt seemed very confident and has a few tricks in the locker, love a really passionate celebration too, cant wait to see him again

no doubt a gem of a signing. i have been saying for weeks he should be given a chance. in saying that we look very different with df and lb up front. at least laurent gives us a differnet option on the bench. all in all, poor performance by our recent standards but two very good goals. hope to have the regular front two back on tuesday for what will be easily our hardest test this season. utb

Would still have Doug and Barney as my front two but what a sub to bring on.

Would put my mortgage on him being a French international within two years.

somethings not quite right with your statement - a player that will soon be good enough for the same national side that has made two of the last three world cup finals - but not good enough to command a starting place in a League 1 team.......

me thinks you might be :net:

Belsvik's goal was more of a near-post flick-on.

HKR's against Swansea last season was more similar to today's winner.

I never ever seem to see the celebrations... Whenever we score I always end up going so mental, I seem to spend the first minute after the restart trying to calm the blood vessel that I am certain is going to burst..

What was the celebration today? For some reason I was facing the back of the east stand jumping inanely on the spot trying to cuddle complete strangers and then find my way back to my seat half blind through my second embolism of the match

He ran towards the West with absolute elation and passion all over his face. It was a goal that really meant something.

He did well when he came on, and it was an absolutely superb header, but am I the only one who thought it was simply good rather than the absolutely sensational debut some think it was?

He will be a decent player but he is actually not brilliant in the air... I have seen him a couple of times before and he sometimes fails to get involved. and can be just incredibly average.

1 great goal a good player does not make.

Thought he was going to jump into the stand! Lovely to see the reaction of everyone else as well. Great performance from him, that spell he's had in the reserves has obviously taught him a thing or two. Poor old Furlong is now even further back in the pecking order.

A stunning goal from a truly excellent header just when we needed it, and he seems like a great player to have come off the bench. On balance though, while he did some things very well and he looks comfortable on the ball, I thought his work-rate was extremely poor compared to the likes of Barnard, Walker and Revell who are all happy to "defend from the front".

He did well and it's got to be great for his confidence, but let's not get too carried away off the back of half-an-hour of football...

Kudos to Clarkey for the cross, absolutely whipped it in and a good looping header from Laurent was good to see him get his first goal!

He made quite an impact when he came on but I think it's a bit early to be talking him up too much, he's certainly given Tilson something to think about.

I thought Laurent looked very promising with a good touch but I have a feeling he could be one of those players who could brilliant one week and poor another.

Interesting to read all the positive comments about Laurent scoring on his debut after coming on as a sub. Seem to remember similar comments about Walker and now he is being described by many as "poo"

Must of been a strange player for Swindon to handle considering nobody (including our fans) knew anything about him! I bet when he came off the bench Melpas thought "Who the **** is this?"

I remember this sort of reaction when James Lawson scored in his home debut. Last I heard is that has dropped down about three leagues since then.

We can only judge Laurent when he has played some full 90 Minutes. as it sounds like his former clubs didn't rate him very much.

What former clubs?!?

He was playing in Germany up until now!

Thought he was as gangly as hell and awkward.Hardly a complete player like Henri who's balance is superb.
Need to see him more for sure.
