Barcelona!!!
And neither do. I. Sooner sturrock goes the quicker the
club can move forward. Legend??? 3 seasons in the basement
division. No not a legend
Sorry, I don't.:nope:
:clap:Well said!So much negativity from some on here. Get over yourselves he is your manager like it or not and he goes over and beyond what most managers do to keep us up to date as far as he can. A new season approaches can we just for once all get behind the manager and the team. As far as Im concerned any player who pulls the blue shirt on is one of ours and the man standing in the dugout is our manager and deserves our support.
is me or is Paul Sturrock a Legend :-)

A ringing endorsement for Sturrock if ever I saw one.
Football is a results based business. What has Sturrock achieved for our club? I'd agree with MK that in his first season he performed a minor miracle to keep us from dropping out of L2, especially since he had so little pre-season time to put a squad together.Last season was different however. He had the time to bring in the players he wanted (and the money too before the transfer deadline). What did we achieve?A losing play off place.Frankly I don't think that's good enough and I don't expect either PS or the team to do any better next season.Let's face it, unless the elusive move to FF either becomes a reality or gets buried forever, we're unlikely to progress as a club or as a football team.
At which stage of Southend United's history did you decide we are entitled to promotion in nearly every season we spend in the fourth tier? Because, looking at the past 106 years, that seems unrealistic.

I think that in the 54 years that there have been 4 tiers, we have only had runs of 3 or more consecutive seasons in the bottom one twice before, so for about 85% of that time we haven't been "looking forward" to a third successive season in the basement. No team is or ever has been entitled to promotion; it has to be won. We didn't do enough to win it. Should we have, from where we were ? I think so and I too think last season was not good enough on a number of counts.
Nobody is "entitled to promotion",including us.What I am saying is, that it's highly unlikey IMO, that Sturrock will achieve promotion with us,based on the evidence of his last two seasons in charge of SUFC.
Paddy Power has us 20-1 for the title by the way... that's pretty generous IMO.
