The Custard Splat
Arsene Wenger rates him very highly, with the form of some Arsenal keepers I can't blame him for wanting to push the first team, BUT if he were to go out on loan there is no chance he'll be playing in League 2.
I'd like to see us make up a chant for him: "There's only one Wojciech Szczesny!"
It'll be interesting to see if this is a signing as first choice or back-up.

I prefer "One vowel, he's only got one vowel!"
I would have thought he will be number 1. In our financial state it makes sense just to have the 1 keeper as first choice with Youth Daniel Bentley on the bench and if anything happens to Morris then we can loan someone in if needed. It would save us around 50 grand a year. Although I would prefer Evans.
I dont see why we would have trialled Evans, who made more of an impact yesterday as well, if we werent going to sign him.

Maybe we offered terms to Evans this morning but he wanted more than Morris so we took the cheaper option
One League Two Club, possibly Aldershot, when they released one of their senior goalkeepers said it was viturally impossible to have two senior goalkeepers on the wagebill.
Now, it depends how Sturrock is working our wage bill as to whether we'd be able to add Rhys Evans (who I would have prefered) or have to stick to Daniel Bentley as our number two and if there is any injuries/suspension then we bring in a loan keeper.
Can't recall having watched Morris play before, how long did he get yesterday? Seems bizzare with Evans getting 45 minutes against Dartford and whatever he got yesterday and Morris didn't even feature at Dartford.
Be interesting to see J_S opinions on the lad.
Would like to see some of Bentley too.
Perhaps we will sign a No.1 and release Bentley? Depends if he is good enough.
I agree though, I'd rather have 1 senior keeper and one youth. Shame if Morris is our pick for No.1 (have a sneaky feeling he wont be, but) as I would have preferred Evans or Flavs.

As if by magic :)
As it goes, if you check, Morrim was a signing I suggested you'd be making very early on during the 'potential signings' thread.
In short? I'd like to say that you could do better, but with the parlous finances at the club... The good news is that Morrim is a class shot-stopper, who has become marginally better at coming off his line for crosses over the years. On the negative side, he isn't great at 1-on-1 keeping, he doesn't save penalties, he isn't very communicative, he lacks presence and his kicking is atrocious off both feet.
He's solid back up at lower division level, but I can't imagine that he's signed on as anything other than first choice after nearly a decade serving as understudy to a series of very average keepers (Lee Harrison, Glyn Garner, Stuart Nelson) and one quality one (current incumbent Jamie Jones). On the plus side, Rhys Evans is utter gash (we had him for a season) and even worse than Morrim, so I reckon you've dodged a bullet there.

The only rhyme I can think of is Emile Heskey.......I'd like to see us make up a chant for him: "There's only one Wojciech Szczesny!"
