For those who are self-employed maybe, I've just been trying to get a long weekend sorted out for September, only seven months notice so you'd reckon it'd be easy enough wouldn't you..... :nope:

I suppose I'll have to get in touch with the ticket office now and see if I can get a refund on a couple of tickets I'd already bought for a couple of workmates as they're going to struggle to get here for a 7:15 k.o., they were going to be tight for 7:45 but I'd persuaded them to come to a local derby evening at the Hall to experience a real football experience, they've only ever been to Arsenal.... ******* Sky :'( and yes, I do appreciate we need the extra dosh, doesn't mean I have to be happy though.

If I remember rightly, we don't pick up any extra revenue from having the game televised, all the money from Sky is collected and contributes towards the tournament prize fund.

EDIT -

http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20110629/johnstones-paint-trophy-rules_2293633_2383581

18.2 Any additional monies received from television, broadcasting, films or any other source in respect of these matches shall be placed in the Pool Account which shall be used to defray all expenses mentioned above and any balance shall be distributed at the discretion of The Board.

All we have to do is nobble the Orient players coach halfway down the a127 , then the ref will have to put the kick off back to around , say 7.45 .....:winking:

Simples

As others have already stated I can't see why it's a 7.15pm kick off. I doubt the TV money is that much compared to say a live FA cup match.
Anyway Orient can't moan too much as they have already arranged couple of 7pm kick-offs in the JPT this season.

Think ourselves lucky that there is an important British League Netball match on that afternoon, or we may have been scheduled for a 2.30 p.m. kick-off.

Come on guys there are ways, sudden dentist, doctor appointments, the odd sickey, weve all done it. I worked my lunch hour yesterday and was able to leave an hour early so that i could get to Bridbrain Road, there are ways. Im not sayin its clever, but if you really want to be there you will!!!!

Can't you come in 30 mins earlier? Jeez, it's only one day surely no company is that much of an arsebiscuit to not allow a bit of flexitime.

2.30pm kick-off on a Weds afternoon pre-floodlights was normal, at least it coincided with half day closing at the shops. I suppose people in non retail jobs just had to call in sick or miss the matches. I think lots of kids used to bunk off school to see some of these matches.

Kick off time is awkward for some fans but that unfortunately thats the way things are when you take the sky tv money.Good for the clubs bank balance though.

Sorry if ive missed something, im confused. How comes we are on tv again? I thought we had one leg and coventry/crewe got the other??

According to East Stand Blue's earlier post there is no additional money for a live JPT game. Apart from any additional expenses that we would not normally have spent if it was not a live game.

They were waiting to see how the first legs panned out before selecting the second leg, as the cov/crewe game is pretty much done and ours is nicely balanced we're selected again.

Still don't know why it has to be played at 7.15 though??? How do sky benefit from that? And for those saying 30 mins doesn't make a big difference...when you've got to come round half of the m25 around 5pm, trust me, it makes a big difference in whether you make the game or not!

Wanna bet, my two workmates have already been told this afternoon that they won't be allowed an early start/finish and when they offered to move their rostered day off they just got laughed at and told, 'that's not policy'. :nope:

Time to change jobs, sounds like just the sort of firm that wants you to do o/t at short notice and lean on you to sort them but ask for a small favour and blanked

For us down in cornwall, we are just thankful that the second leg is now being shown live on sky, so that we can get to see the blues. But i must admit that 7.15 ? kick off is a weird time !
