I don't think we should do any dealings in the transfer market, at all. Outward or inward.

We are good enough to stay up this season and maybe even have a nudge at the play-offs and the squad is fine at the moment.

We tried all this last season, bringing in loan players like Barnett, Loza, McQueen and so on. They were either a let down or hardly played at all.

Every time we unsettle ourselves with speculation (PB to Bolton, x, y or z player coming in) we go off the boil.

We've got good enough tools here. Just need to roll our sleeves up and get on with the job.

See how we are at the end of the season and spend any money wisely then.

On the other hand the season before we bought in Barrett, Piggott & McLaughlin who were pivotal to us getting promoted.

Wouldnt mind the lad Gutherie from Col Utd, certainly knows where the goal is. Was very outspoken during their bad run but has stepped up to the plate when needed and produced the goods. Big lad and young, so lots of potential

He is going to be worth a lot of money if he continues to play so well, he is benefitting from being played in his natural position as a striker rather than in midfield where we played him earlier in the season. The real star though is going to be Craig Slater in midfield, now we have stopped playing that daft one up front formation he has really shown his class.

Haha. We had that problem.

Dont get me started on the lone forward crap:winking:

You guys are on a bit of a roll 'C & P'.

Any thoughts on the automatic spots?

Yes now we are giving the manager the chance to manage rather than managing the manager I think we are in with a decent shot at the playoffs and an outside chance of the automatics. One thing which should be in our favour is we have played all the higher placed sides away but none of them at home, so in theory as Carlisle found out we should beat some of them!

All sounds promising and Plymouth will implode at some point, like they always do.

Good luck with it all.

Momentum is a massive thing from now on in, as Sheffield United proved on Saturday.

The sad thing is that you may well slither out of the primeval swamp that is FL2 and we will already have packed our overnight bags and toothbrushes for a season in the Championship. All that effort and nobody of any consequence to play in our absence. Life's a bitch at times.

'a season'? You think we'll go straight up to the Prem?!!

True, these big clubs never play well at a soulless, windy, half empty stadium in the middle of nowhere :winking:
