Where are the signings? Same old. Just days away from the window shutting. Nothing as always.

Apparently we have made bids but no news. Enquired about certain players and nothing.

It doesn't sound positive bout ranger who is a big part of our attack.

We've signed Nouble and Amos already, if the club don't know yet about Ranger why would they sign someone and then possibly end up with Cox, Fortune, Ranger, Mooney, Nouble and another competing for two places?

Interesting that Ranger posted on twitter for the first time in 2 weeks, albeit cryptic... Does this mean a reprieve? The pursuit of another frontman seems to have gone quiet again, so does this all add up to some positive news> If i am honest i would have Ranger back in a flash as I do not think we could attract a better striker at this moment.

The only issue will be is that both he and Nouble have not played a full game for some weeks so will need time to get match fit. Same for Hines, just happy to get McG back and at some point McL. Tricky situation... to buy or not to buy, that is the question

Also what is the status of Ferdinand? If he's going to be laid off for a while and Innis is still not ready then maybe a CB is needed despite John White's good performance yesterday.

Nothing is ever straight forward, we all know this by now.

In PB we trust...

Just thinking that maybe Ranger will be subject to a ban, but not more than, say, 2 months or so, meaning the club would possibly consider keeping him on, but need the cover in the interim.

John White is a seasoned professional and he didn't let us down yesterday according to all the match reports here (MotM according to Rattus). He lost his place to Demetriou because our Cypriot man is a better attacking option but I really don't think there is a need to rush and buy another CB. Let White fill the gap for as long as Anton needs to get back again and until Innis is ready. Timlin is a good example of what can be achieved as a temporary fill in at left back, John White can do the same at CB.

agreed. But if the club are serious about getting into the playoffs then we need to be signing at least 2 more players of quality, one of which is a forward who can regularly score to share the burden with cox. We need to be scoring more goals if we are to break into the playoff places and stay there. Mooney will probably not play again and let's be honest Ranger has gone off the boil in the last few matches. The 2 players we have brought in are adding cover but don't improve the team overall.

Big 2 days coming up for the club in terms of what the intentions for the rest of season are?

Yeah, i get what you're saying and agree that White is a competent CB, however cautious that we could end up with the situation of a number of players out of their natural positions; we could have White (RB) at CB, Timlin (CM) at LM and McGlashan (RW) at CA if we lose another striker.

I'm also an advocate of White, he's a true pro, but you know how fickle people are, if he makes one mistake things can change...

lacks a little bit of height for me at CB but as you say good enough until AF and RI are fit again. However, longer term I think JW needs to be kept on at the end of the season.

i dont think promotion is on the cards this season ,but definitely will be next season, so end off this season is the time to really look at what we require in the way of strengthening for a positive promotion push next season,as for now i think we just about have the right players for a playoff place ...maybe.

Just seen Nile's cryptic tweet from the 27th. Based entirely on that, I'd say he's staying

Well, I'd like to think so, anyway...
