Jack is Back! (24 Season 8)

just got the internet and am currently downloading the first 4 episodes. where we up to in the UK? I thought Season 7 was dire, but 24 is just too addictive!

Epsidoes 1-4 have been shown, 5+6 feature in another double bill on Sunday, ending rather conveniently at 11pm.

Don't Walk Away, Renee...

Been hooked since Day 1, and glad to see the return of 24. I believe Day 8 sees the return of Agent Walker, played by the delightful Annie Wersching. :slurp:

Great to see the development of her character and don't want to be a spoiler here, but even Jack is looking perplexed by what she might get up to next ... great stuff so far and hoping that the Russian links might see some footage of Coney Island soon.

What was wrong with Season 7? I thought it was very strong and far better than Season 6.

I thought Season 7 was good as well, particularly the struggle between the various departments like Homeland Security, FBI and NSA in order to process things and get the job done... I also particularly liked the message they were conveying about the use of torture on terrorists, especially with waterboarding being such a prolific topic in the US.

I just thought there were too many major jumps in the plot with no credible story arc that spanned the series. Plus it lacked any tension. Watched the first 3 and a bit episodes (mrs pubey was tired so will watch the rest in the morning). It's got off to an excellent start.

Bubba really is a moronic character. Percy was a good actor but his accent was terrible!

Bubba shows a better side in the 4th episode I think... I was half expecting Herc to be a longstanding character, but obviously not.

Was disappointed to see Herc from The Wire was just a one episode gig, Whenever I see people from the Wire pop up in other things they always seem to have a minor role like their careers just never seems to hit the hit the dizzy heights of their Baltimore days... the show is already swarming with familiar faces from other shows, Russian Assassin bloke was Dharma Horace in LOST last year!

I actually thought Kim Bauer looked a bit rough in the opening couple of episodes, I'm sure she will return near the end of the series so she or her daughter can be kidnapped. Maybe her husband of 3 years will actually be a insider Russian spy as well!

And some highly unlikely ones too ... the fella who played the bent smoothie cop - Zain - from 'The Bill' was in episode four, although he only had a silent cameo.

Glad you said that Rob I thought I spotted him.

When I first saw him, H, I thought "no, it can't be." Had to Sky+ the episode again the night after as it was playing up first time around and lo and behold, there he was ... I guess we're never too old to be surprised, are we mate? :stunned:

Most go to or from Eastenders but this lad obviously has some class. The Bill is probably better than 24 so only a slight downstep for him ;)

Last night, when Jack pulled the knife out of his gut only to launch it at the Russian's throat with pin point accuracy, I think I ejaculated pure testosterone.

That was quite possibly the most mental 30 seconds of TV ever!! It's been brilliant so far!

The time filling segment of Starbuck taking on her ex husband is also pretty tasty. Better than Kim being chased by a mountain lion....

lol, at least it's giving some "WTF?!" moments. I'm not quite sure where it's going, but blatantly going to end up causing some carnage at CTU.

What's with that fishy CTU agent who got buttoned-up by Agent Ortis? Something's up there.

I thought exactly the same, because they zoomed in onto his face when the chopper was landing where they thought the rods were. I was half expecting him to gun down the rest of the team and fly off with them.

Probably his gay lover, after all he told Dana he had a past, and she's about to go on a killing spree. Love it.
