Jack is Back! (24 Season 8)

What Beefy said... Very little (I'm talking Soprano's and The Wire) compares to Seasons 1 through 3 of 24.

Thought it was an average start, I've seen more explosive beginnings but the power in this show is how it unravells throughout the series. They've pulled out the big guns in terms of pivotal parts though... Freddie Prinze Jr and that guy from The Green Mile are both credible actors. I did like how several of the characters made references to dying, like Ethan saying "I'm not dead yet"... They've always done that so somebody is bound to die.

Well Bada Bing to that then!

Very true mate.

Going to give it a bash

Don't blame you, mate! :)

I'd love to get back on board with this show. Really liked seasons 1 and 2 despite the repetition (How many times can one girl get kidnapped? Seriously?) but not seen it since.

Might have to borrow your DVDs mate!

I could never sell my 24 DVDs. Every now or then I et one down from a shalf and lose an entire weekend.

Can't get enough of it. Loved seasons 1-3, 3 being the bset IMO. Went steadily downhill from 4 onwards, resulting in a dire season 6 (you know they're devoid of any good ideas when the creators have Jack's dad and brother be the baddies).

Season 7 was a return to form, though, and I'll start watching 8 over the next few days.

To be fair, Season Four was very watchable, and Season Five was absolutely stellar.

Six was a shocker though.

It's odds and evens with 24...

Seasons 1, 3 and 5 were absolutely superb, and Season 7 was great.

Season 2 was good, Season 4 was mediocre and, as you say, Season 6 was almost awful. It's as if they have to respond to a bad series to produce the business. I just hope the trend doesn't continue on to 8, as it'd be a shame to leave one of the best running TV shows on a downer.

Took me 90 minutes to realise Hastings was none other than Bubba from Forest Gump, kept expecting him to start offering some shrimp around.

Watched first episode, was relieved annoying kim didnt get kidnapped, then irritated he had an informant that he yet again managed to get killed just as they were going to airlift him to CTU.

Jack Bauer super agent, yet cant keep informants alive long enough ever to find out the key information they hold. Gggggr.

Someone in the whitehouse is a traitor, shocker, someone in CTU a traitor, shocker.

All a bit deja vu for my liking.

Add to that I hadnt noticed the Bubba thing and wont be able to watch it without thinking of Forest Gump and shrimp, Battle star galactica, Slum dog millionaire or Fred from Scooby Doo.

My first series and I have the old sky plus on. Loved the first two epsiodes and am hooked already.

Dave, seriously stop watching!!! If you watch it now you'll be hooked and then you'll watch the earlier seasons knowing things about what happens to who.

If there's ever one show that you should watch from the start it's this one.

Am up-to-date on this series so far after watching E1-4 on Monday and Tuesday! Love it alot but didn't catch any of S4-6!

Thought episodes 3 and 4 were very good, especially having Herc from The Wire as the disgruntled cop. Wasn't exactly surprised to see this season's target being Russian though, as they've pretty much run out of races to discriminate against.

just got the internet and am currently downloading the first 4 episodes. where we up to in the UK? I thought Season 7 was dire, but 24 is just too addictive!
