Ian's Ban
When Irate Ian finally started using this website to send Private Messages to a number of users containing libellous statements about one of the owners of this website, it was seen as the straw that broke the camel's back and the decision was taken with full support from all of the owners to effect a ban. Despite what he might now try to spin, Irate Ian has not been banned for having an opinion.

So just to clarify, II was banned for sending Private Messages which contained libellous statements, because from what II is saying below it appears to be because of an opinion he has on someone.

Can't be bothered to put the whole e-mail up on here so in summary:

- After this, he declared he would rather be known as Bemused Ian.

- He denies sending any PMs containing libellous statements about one of the owners of this site. He agrees he did send a PM expressing an opinion about an owner, but it was definitley not libellous. He would like you to send him the quotes that are believed to be libellous or via me, his (you'll like this phrase) "nominated contact who has my authority to receive them" (aka me apparently).

- He has "a completely clear conscience in this"

Davewebbsbrain, whilst II may have been the originator, any subsequent transmission of the defamatory statement can give rise to a new defamation. Ie, by you posting a potentially defamatory statement you are making a new defamation, especially where you are now sending it to a wider audience than that intended by II.

Is that double Libel...If it's anything like double Jeapordy, I can't be banned cos Ian already has!!

In all eventuality, I was trying to make the point that Ian was banned for a real reason, not for posting the same thread 11 times and people need to realize this and get off the Mods/Owners backs!
