...and you richly deserved the win.

That was just as gutless and pathetic from Orient as last year, the difference being that Southend aren't any cop either this season, which makes it all the more worrying from my point of view.

A terrible first half from both sides with little of note except a couple of poor challenges and one decent effort from Laurent - at that point it was a game that didn't deserve a goal.

But come the second half Southend came out with purpose and gained early impetus which they never reliquished. It quickly became obvious that only one side wanted to win it, an Orient gave you all the space you needed to play in. Taking Chambers off was, in my view, a kamikaze move as he'd been the only player earning his wages out there and everything proceeded to go s***shaped.

To be quite honest I'd left the ground by the time the third went in, though it appears to be the third time in three games we've managed to concede from our own offensive set piece. No complaints about the O's fans bailing tonight; again half our home support turns out at an away game, yet again we sing our hearts out for the first half to no avail from the side; yet again the pitiful excuse for professional footballers who disgrace the badge I wear on my arm shame us in a local derby. Awful.

I've got no qualms about the result; you wanted it more, you played with tempo and purpose in the second half and you fully deserved it. Well done to the Blue Voice as well, who put the rest of the ground to shame.

Fair review.

You say we aren't much cop, but I'm always going to disagree. We might not have depth, but our starting 11 simply looked better than your's.

Although if we're much cop, then you guys must be complete pony!

We are complete pony. Though to be fair we were shorn of five of our first 11 tonight, and it showed. We have no strength in depth and sorely, sorely missed Thornton and Demetriou in midfield. We can't replace that quality with our finances.

That said, those were our first choice fullbacks. Frankly, I'd rather play me there as they're complete gash who didn't make a tackle between them all game.

Good support from you guys tonight but the team didn't seem to respond,
particularly in the second half.We were fragile at the beginning what with all the goings on at the club and if you'd have really pushed us it could have been different. I think its going to be a difficult season for you guys based purely on what I've seen tonight. But I might say the same about us.Good Luck anyway.

Lol.......

I'll have 3-0 all day long but I did feel slightly sorry for Orient. For me, that was never a pen and then a deflection to finish off.

However after all the dodgy pens and dodgier own-goals we've conceded over the years I'll take it all night long!

I've just flicked through the Orient message boards and they seem suicidal. To be honest I can't see us both bot being in this division next year.

I had a pretty good view of the penalty, and as they say I've seen them given etc. IMO it was a foul and Trevor Kettle made the right decision.

We certainly got the rub of the green - but hell, its been a long time coming!

Helps to even out some of the decisions at Swindon the other week.

For what its worth, I dont think that was a pen at all - "seen them given", definitely, but it looked shoulder-to-shoulder at best and a tangle of legs with no intention at worst.

It wasn't 'shoulder to shoulder' from my viewpoint - don't forget 'charging from behind' (ooh er!) is a direct-free kick offence, therefore in the box a penalty.

I hope a few of them go through with it.........

Personally crap first half and totally out classed them second half.

Barnard will win all the plaudits and rightly so for a 2nd half hatricks but Francky Moussa and Jonny Herd I thought he both fantastic. I really think were going to have a battle to keep him if he keeps going like it is.

Orient I thought were amazingly ****. Years of listening to Stokes bore on about Mkandawire and Chambers being world class and both were pony. McGleish grew on me after he mouth me off back after I abused him from the safety of the south upper. Ashworth the back - what a first class donkey, Purches - Big Kisses to you....Stupid clash with Barney for the pen and then lost his head - Makes it so much more special as I know he is an Orient fan too.

Special mention to the tactical genius that is Mr G Williams his subs were superb. O Leary looked like he hadnt done a days exercise since he left school and the black chap with the sideshow bob haircut who came onto the left wing - big ****ing laughs....how ****.

Not one to moan as had 3-0 as my score predicitons at the bookies at 23/1 but really would liked to have had 5-6 which were due. Scannell managed to knee to ball over the ball from a yeard out, Moussa hit the post and had one cleared off the line and Barney was twice unlucky too....

Overall a fantastic night despite a dire first half. Even the useless ******* that is Trevor kettle couldnt ruin the day.

Final note - Did anyone see the Orient fan with the worlds largerst mullett? Blone hair, massive bins and a mullett akin to Waddle in World Cup 90? ****ign comedy gold.

Fair play JS.

Awful first half from both sides.

Second half we stepped up a gear, but still way short of where we could be.

An average performance from us, but as you say it is worrying for you lot. It really could of been a cricket score in the end (which would of been very harsh) the last 10 minutes was wall to wall shots reigning in on your goal.

Nice to hear some positive comments re: The Blue Voice too. Thought we made some good noise at times, but again not as good as we have been. I'm sure Leeds will be much better.

H£ARN OUT?!

HEARN IN,doing a grand job.

Takes a lot of guts for an O's fan to come on here and be upfront the way Mr S consistently is. If there was an 'Ambassador for attempts to bridge the petty emnities of footy tribalism,' JS would get my vote! 'The Emperor' salutes you, sir!

Are you the one who shouted "McGLEISH YOU COL EWE ****, **** OFF YOU UGLY PRICK" or something like that?

If so, hats off to you.

No just general abuse about being old slow and **** all in equal measures.

Did you swallow a thesaurus this morning Rob?

Appreciated J_S, we were excellent in the 2nd half. The majority have always said that a FULLY FIT Barnard in a 20-25 goal a season striker. Moussa creates a lot, so we will always be dangerous going forward.

On a side note, how much did Sawyer take the **** when he came on??? AWESOME!

Fair play on your comments. I won't take the mick, as I am spent after giving my Borient supporting Uncle & cousin some serious grief! It has to be done after our recent poor run against your boys! I am SO happy!

I thought the penalty was harsh, but felt that idot Kettle was making up for the one he bottled in the first half.

The point of my reply, is finances! Your club's accounts are one of the few solvent I have seen! I know your crowds are generally pants, but you make profits every year & you still have loads of money coming in from the flats in the corners. Have you seen Mr Hearn's Brentwood home!!! Unless Hearn is holding onto it in the hope you move to Harlow or the Olympic Stadium & spend it there. He isn't doing you any favours!

RM take note!
