Sounds like the words of a man in the last chance saloon. Steve Dale insisted all was going to be fine at Bury, until it wasn't...

I will again ask, can the Trust please come forth to outline contingency plans that were alluded to last week? Fans need to know what we can realistically do in the face of non-payment.
I’m not party to what the trust is up to, but in the event of non payment we’re closed down - it’s perfectly simple. At that point it’s all about a Phoenix, in which I have no doubt the trust would play a key and helpful role.

I still believe there is potential for last minute rescue deals before we close down for good... although I may be totally wrong.

It looks like Macclesfield had no chance to organise such a deal though...

When are some fans really going to wake up and realise we are ****ed.

5 weeks to go and Ron’s basically said he still hasn’t secured the bridging loan. As I said numerous times now I have zero faith he will get the money in time!! Todays pitiful statement has now pretty much all but confirmed that for me.

It’s literally the same statement as always, just copy and paste it Ron to save yourself the time. The pandemic blah blah blah.
Funny how nearly all EFL and NL clubs also went through the same pandemic but are not on the verge of going under. Not even Scunthorpe can share that accolade with us anymore as they have been sold today.

Any fans who still think things are going to be ok in 5 weeks time are delusional I’m afraid.

Our only hope now is Ron realises this and starts listens to offers otherwise we are going to be following Bury and Macclesfield.

Like what?
Admittedly I have no idea what I’d expect it to say or even what they can say. I’ve just hated the complete silence and although todays ‘statement’ is a big fat nothing, I just want the fact we are all waiting on tenterhooks acknowledged. I know I’m contradicting myself. I think this club is starting to mess with my head!

Interest on the loan will be massive, now he’s exhausted all avenues re extensions, hopefully it's just a ‘submit’ button to press right at the last minute

I'm amazed no players have been sold yet, hopefully, that's a positive sign!!!

Love your positivity, but you can read the non-sale of players in one of two ways.

Either we're very confident this loan will be sorted, or the sum of money is so great (£1.4m?) that even if we sold the entire squad, we couldn't pay it off therefore making it pointless to sell.

How can he blame Covid and relegations which were his fault as he didn’t pay the tax man. What about all the other embargo’s before Covid???? The bloke is a crook.! I don’t think anyone wants to lend him £5 million. And as he won’t listen to offers them people are better off buying as when we go into administration. Also be nice to hear from the trust on their plans?

Correct, damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
It doesn't help when the hierarchy of this site are the first ones out with the pitchforks and torches, stirring up the angry crowd amongst us.
Why the laid back attitude? So your saying fans can't have a go at statement which doesn't exactly give fans much confidence of their club existing after 1st March. Fans have a right to be angry.

It's fine mate, the club might shake around a bit more but he’ll sort it

Be positive, whoever thought that Del Boy would one day become a millionaire, but looked what happened..........!!!

If there was ever a time to get angry, I think it would be the 35 day period running down to the potential oblivion of SUFC. I don't blame anyone for getting angry right now

That’s my understanding too. As far as I’m aware there’s no grace period where Ron can sell up or we can all look down the back of our sofas. That’ll be us done there and then.

After the court hearing the fans are desperate to learn what is the timetable of when this bridging loan is going to in place and wanted some crumb of comfort as to the future.Sorry this statement is just a recap of what has been said before nothing new.Come on we deserve so much better, treat us with respect not with contempt

Sorry, anyone saying "damned if he does, damned if he doesn't" wants their head checking. To wait this long to release a statement about such a serious situation, and then for that statement to be so empty, just displays conplete and utter disdain and contempt for the fanbase.

That is a statement full of hope, when we needed one with facts and reassurance. It does have an air of "on the back foot" about it, but being "unable to outline precise timings" simply isn't good enough. We have 35 days. We're closer to disaster than ever.

As @Smiffy rightly asks, is there a signed agreement for this bridging loan? Because an "indicative terms sheet" doesn't cut it, I'm afraid. If there is no actual agreement in place, when will it be? What other hoops need to be jumped through to get it sorted? How long will it take to arrive in the club's account and what is the hold up? Can he guarantee that it will be here in time for the next hearing? If not then what is the contingency plan?

If there was ever a time for the fanbase to come together and start preparing for all eventualities, then surely that time is now?

I was at least expecting him to exude some of his classic, ‘I’ve got this all in hand, don’t you worry’, especially with the Eastleigh game marked for protest. But he didn’t. Which worries me even more and really makes me think that under Ron, we’re ****ed. Can only hope he’s lining up a sale in case the bridging loan doesn’t come through.
