And breathe!
So was it a case of not pulling down the bridging loan until the very last minute?
Tom reportedly said Feb will be tough to get through and it sure was! Did he also suggest if we get through Feb, things will start to improve?
The question is, has the damage been done? I can't believe we won't lose some of our squad as a direct result the last four weeks.

We dodge another bullet.

Truly great news and sourcing the amount(s) needed could not have been easy.

It has been some feat to keep things going and you have to think we could not have pulled through the last two months or so without the efforts of Tom Lawrence. I suspect what he has done is well above and beyond the call of normal duty. If Tom reads this please accept the grateful thanks of a very long time supporter. He is probably way too busy to go on this site, and, if that is the case, perhaps someone else can let him know his outstanding efforts are appreciated.

Without a CEO (or with an incompetent one) it is hard to see how we could have found a way through all of this.

What Kevin Maher and his coaching staff have done in these circumstances is quite remarkable. Despite all the uncertainty surrounding the future, the failure of the club to properly fulfill their financial obligations we have remained competitive and still are play off and promotion contenders. Kevin and the staff are true leaders as the results achieved recently defy belief given all of the distractions surrounding them. Super stuff!

Whatever the future might have in store for our dynamic trio it is hard to believe they will ever be tested again the way they have been in the first few weeks of 2023. To just keep things going would have been impressive enough but to win as many games as we did during this dark unsettled period speaks volumes for their powers of leadership and motivation as well as their competence.

Kudos to SVC for identifying the talent that is TL and bringing him into the club.

It has been some season so far. Do we dare dream?

Don't forget John Still. Seeker and finder of talent and diamonds.

Just had a look on the BBC Football site to see if there was any mention of it. A little disheartening that an article about some idiot geordie getting a cup winners tattoo is taking precedence....

For those still not getting the point of the bridging loan, and worrying about the interest, and we will be here again. Never say never. But the whole point of the bridging loan is short term finance to get to the point where monies flow from the development.

If you pretend the development is not there, then borrowing more to stay in business at high interest is not good at all. However, the only reason someone has us loaned £5m is they can see the clear route to getting it back....

We have been waiting for monies to flow from the development for longer than I can care to remember, and I don't feel we are any closer now to it being started than we were.

There have been so many false dawns, even after the training pitches are done, we still don't have a firm idea of when things will get better.

Well I don't understand how you believe that with all the information to the contrary, But you saying it helps me understand why there are some that think the bridging loan is in fact the beginning of the end. I am pleased I am not one of them as I want a few months of enjoying the football :-)

It’s a start I suppose.

But over the next couple of days we need to see as a minimum:

1. Confirmation of the outstanding tax bill settled in full and petition dismissed.

2. Office staff paid back to November.

3. All staff and players paid for February (due Wednesday)

4. An apology from Ron. Not Tom. Ron.
An apology from Ron?! Not a chance 😂😂😂

The most unprofessional company I've ever seen. They can't make up there mind, one minute clubs biggest fan next minute airing all of the issues on social media. Can't wait to see the back of them

Whilst I agree that some of their social media posts have been bizarre, I don’t want to see the back of them, and I think you’d be daft to wish this.

They have gone above and beyond their role as a sponsor in the ways they’ve helped out. Obviously, publicly, they matched the Shrimpers Trust loan to the Club (£40k was it?), they also stuck money behind the bar on what was going to be our last ever home match if tomorrow went tits up.

Behind the scenes, £40k (if that figure is right, I can’t remember), is just the tip of the iceberg of money they’ve put into the Club, the help they’ve provided, and the other bits and pieces.

They deserve a lot more respect than what some fans are giving them for a few social media posts…

You may have seen the back of the club without them of course , but lets not thank them for the significant funds and efforts they have made on our behalf
And if you had ploughed in a large sum, you just might have expected to be informed at least at the same time as fans and maybe know if and when you might get some of your loaned money back?
But hey lets just knock our best sponsors for years
Oh and thanks for the £500 behind the bar for fans
